The Best Formula One (F1) race of the year! 1/10 scale radio control 2012 ROAR Carpet Nationals A-Main race at Mike's Hobby Shop in Carrollton, Texas. This race happened on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

They are running 2-cell Lipo (7.4V) packs and 21.5T brushless motors with no ESC timing allowed. Also they must run rubber tires and the max width of any part of the car is 190mm.

Yes. The ROAR RMT Officials made the judgement call and penalized the white car which put him in 2nd place.

Hmmm, just watched this race, it looked like the white car edged out the black lotus by a car length at the line. Was he penalized post race for not letting the black lotus regain the lead again after the second rub?

How much downforce do these things make?

Some people in Japan put 1/10 F1 cars in a wind tunnel and the put out around 170g of downforce at 50km/h but it very much depends on the type of wing and body you use and the angle you put the wing at (you can modify the position of the wing elements on most wings), some people even use defusers which add around 15% downforce.
Downforce is proportional to the speed squared, so if you go twice as fast you will have 4 times the downforce.
The cars weight 1050g.
