I'm a big Cook fan, but I am concerned about his long-term durability. He has a unique build for a lead back getting 20 to 25 touches a game. He's long, thin lower body. His athleticism certainly helps, but I feel like his production tapered off last season, and I think that's a big part of why. The Bills need to bring in another bigger back who can handle the runs between the tackles. I liked the Damien Harris signing last season, but then he had that unfortunate injury. Murray was great to start the season, but I think he cooled off as the season went on. Maybe the Bills can grab someone in the draft -- some young fresh and beefy legs who can offer a power-run game and can take on that No. 2 RB role.
You have to remember his rookie season he wasn’t utilized much. He was used to playing 12-15 games a year in college at Georgia and they use a stable of 3+ backs and cook was mainly the receiving back. He’ll adjust to the workload
@@Robertb48 That's true. I'm sure he's ramped up, and now he knows what to expect. Like I said, I think a guy with his athleticism is going to be in better shape for the beating. But, drafting Ray Davis was a great addition to the room. He can handle those goal line, short yardage carries, and take some pressure off Cook.
I just wish he caught the ball more. He would’ve had so many touchdowns 😭
