    Looks easy. But, I rather pay some one to do that. At least I know what to look for.

    I just did mine. My first thought was to go with the sliding door mesh that I had laying around in the garage. But instead, I went to the ace hardware store and in their filter section they had a similar filter but for a type of water pump that you put in fish tanks. I picked it up for $9.99 cut it to size and super glued it on the frame. I didnt want to use the mesh because it seems to be much more forgiving to dust particles. The filter however is almost the same density as the original and looks like will filter micro dust particles better.

      That's cool! Good job! Did you do 1 side or both? I only did 1 side. Still holding up well, and quiet 😊

      I did the same and it's still holding well. However the filter is now super dirty so I'm looking for an option to replace it. I think windows screen would let dust in but at least it would prevent big debris such as leaf sucked into blower

      @@Ghozianpribadi dirty filter at the blower is a good thing. I'd check the cabin filter next and see how dirty they got. I also thought of using the window mesh and fold it into multiple layers. Maybe you can try doing that .

    You could have put a template for the filter in the description so that we can just print it out and make it according to it, it would be useful for many, for everything else, many thanks!

      Oh man! What a GREAT idea! 💪 If anyone has a 1:1 scan of the template to send me, I'll post it to go along with these instructions. Unfortunately, I through mine away after the job 😏

    Great video and tutorial. I was wondering if you could have just removed the cover of the motor and and vacuumed it inside the car rather than removing the entire motor out. Thanks again.

    • @BLT-Tech
      @BLT-Tech  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks. Maybe you could. But notice the mounting screws of the whole assy need to be removed, plus the cover screws. At that point, I'd prefer to just pull it out and be able to see all sides putting it back together (risk of it not closing up properly/completely. I'm not sure you have space to lift off the top either with in in place. Good luck and thanks for watching.

    My fan is making a noise so I think I have the same problem. Why does BMW have to over engineer everything? Thanks for the video.

      little bit of a pain, but at least not like the valve cover aluminum 1-time-use bolts! LOL 😆
