The first two Home Alone movies starring Macaulay Culkin were some of the biggest classics from the 90s-- and the magic has never really been recaptured. But, when Disney acquired the rights a few years ago, they naturally had to give it a shot and see if they could cash in on the popularity of the property. Thus, Home Sweet Home Alone was born.
Home Sweet Home Alone definitely raises some questions. Like why did they decide to make the bandits sympathetic? Why did they make the kid so unlikeable? Why did Pam and Jeff still want to break in after learning that there might also be a grandmother at home? How did none of the neighbors hear any of the commotion? Why did everyone become friends at the end of the movie?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Home Sweet Home Alone! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Some time later he recovers, gets married settles down, has kids and divorces after his wife has an affair. Taking time to reflect, he returns to the city of his honeymoon to take stock of it all. The story is about the pathos of a middle aged man, uncertain of the meaning and direction of his life. Rome, Alone.
Many decades later, we return to a much older Kevin McAllister, his wife (wom he met in Rome, Alone) has passed on, much like Clint Eastwood's character in Gran Turismo, his children don't call or write very often. His only friends are his cat, Gilgamesh, and a local Mexican boy, Enrico, with whom he bonds over their shared affection for garden ornaments. He is diagnosed with a terminal illness.
      Gnome Alone.

And I'm not sure if I understand you right, but it would be hard to do one of these skits for a movie that hasn't happened. Unless he was psychic. Then it would be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

That being said, i was thinking just last night as I was watching American Pie Reunion on Ntflx... A Pitch Meeting series on the American Pie films seems like low-hanging fruit. Please go for it! Lol! Cheers from sunny Phoenix, and thanks for the time and effort you put into doing what you do. Your caliber and quality of production clearly doesn't just hop into your computer when you wake up. It takes work. A LOT of work. And it's appreciated :)

Even if a film is low budget, it seems impossible that scripts like this get past filmmakers. I mean, even a grip could see the flaws in this plot - so many MFA degrees and they can't find one competent writer in Hollywood? Truly mind boggling.
