You are the reason i just ordered a pipe. I used to smoke one (failed miserably at it) years ago before my 20s. Always drew to hard, made my bowls an inferno, and always got tongue bite. I naturally figured a few things out, but never put them together. Your videos, especially your old ones have completely changed my outlook. Im currently waiting on my pipe and tobaco to arrive. I cannot wait to work on my breathing technique and eventually cracking open the hobbit on a nice evening outside. Thank you so much for your help and wealth of knowledge.

New to piping, here, and I have three each of Captain Earle's: Nightwatch_Stimulus Package_Private Stock...in the "cellar." Looking forward to trying them after putting some age on them all.
Love the fact he used a dice tray for the tobacco.
⛵⛵⛵I liked this one decently enough. Flavorful, enjoyable, and pleasant room note. It reminds me of Peterson’s Nightcap or G.L. Pease Quiet Nights. It’s something I will definitely smoke again, but it’s not one of my preferred mixes.

I never got to try Nightwatch. The two tins I bought last year had mold in them. 😢 So I never bought anymore.

Smoking some now. It’s almost finished the entire tin and I can’t get enough.
Excellent balance of Latakia and oriental. Incense aroma permeates from the pipe as I smoke. Subtle sweetness in the finish. Full mouth feel. Very satisfying. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

The only Capt Earles I have tried is Mystic Blend...nice and comes as crumble cake.
🔥🔥🔥🔥/5 - mine has been aging for almost two years, I think it's gotten better since it was new, maybe a few more years and it could be 5/5.
Also, this is excellent pairing with oolong tea.
I would love to get into pipe smoking but as a 20 year old I feel like it would be almost embarrassing to be seen in public with a pipe as it always seemed more like a older adult sort of thing and I worry about being seen as pretentious or a poser.
Don't worry too much about what other people think. It'll do nothing but have you spinning in circles. Do what you enjoy, do your best to do no harm, and you'll have a happy life.
Just embrace the old. Not a thing wrong with enjoying the old.
Agree with Mike. I started many years ago at the age of 19. One thing tho, you can't buy tobacco until 21 if you're in the US.
I'm in my mid 40's and even I get unhappy looks on occasion. The best thing you can do to make it more socially acceptable is to smoke pleasant smelling aromatics when in public. You WILL get looks, and for the most part, it will be out of interest and curiosity. Bottom line, you have to be yourself. Don't waste a moment of your life worrying about what strangers are thinking.
As a society, we have gotten ourselves in one big damn rush. Smoking a pipe allows me to slow down, be in the moment, and do something I enjoy without distractions. I started smoking a pipe when I was 31. Nobody has ever mentioned anything about my age as it relates to pipe smoking. Life is fleeting. Do what you like. You may even inspire others along the way.
🎉🎉 for me. I’m a lat fanatic and not a fan of the sour flavor I get from this one. I’d reach for GLP Quiet Nights or C&D Star of the East flake before this.

⭐⭐/5, not for me. Fresh tin with less than a month's age. Monotone Latakia creosote like taste and sour/bitter aftertaste. If you enjoy lat forward blends you might like it.
🦫🦫🦫 3/5 Fresh out of the tin, not the most exciting blend. Smooth, plain, smokes easy, but not much complexity. Based on your experience Muttnchop, I'll leave the rest of the cake to age and see how it improves.
🦞🦞🦞🦞 I like all the captain earl's blends; this is number 3 for me just behind Private Stock and Stimulus Package. I like the addition of perique and don't find the latakia overwhelming at all.
