OMG, I keep scrolling through the videos to find one with the "correct" speed. This one is good, the others are so rushed I almost get stressed myself. Would be interesting to know where the speed comes from, is it not defined in notes?
this is the best speed, in my oppinion, to play the Prelude.

@@kac432 you can like it but isn't what actually bach wrote, by just making it slow you are doing a different melody, it's moderato.
Anner Bylsma also plays in slow speed. Not in haste

Exactly. I was frustrated with the excessive speed. Ana Vidovic, for guitar, is my biggest inspiration, but I wanted it for cello. And this interpretation of Inbal came close to what I wanted.
Bach wrote it, it waited for her. Perfect!!!

I love how she takes her time. She hits those important landing notes with just the right emphasis, and lets them ring which keeps us grounded in the key center and at the climax of that build she let’s the high G have its moment without rushing through it like so many others do, before winding it down for the big G chord at the end. Absolutely fantastic.

Most gorgeous and elegant version of this song I've heard. I started learning cello last year at age 40, so know how hard it is to master that softness and that accuracy. It will take me at lease a decade of practice, but how I love it.
Inbal's movements are like silk in the wind.
I adore many cellists, but her beautiful effortless style --it's a magic trick. She makes those bow strokes, vibrato, and finger positions look so easy! Brava, Inbal, brava.

I agree with many of the comments that there is too often simply an attempt to demonstrate dexterity, so we never recieve the essence of what the music was intended to express, which here was done so compellingly.

Beautiful! This is actually my wakeup alarm song and even with the right tempo. The cello's notes are most soothing when the notes are drawn out more, and not at a rapid fire pace!
Inbal, this is a stunning interpretation of one of the greatest works of music ever written by the most brilliant musician who ever lived. The clarity and ring of the instrument and the lovely speed at which you play this is perfect, not too fast and not too slow. It reminds me of the first time I listened to the old Glenn Gould recording of the Goldberg variations. There was an interpretation different to any that I had heard, and so is your rendition of this prelude. As a mathematician, I love this work, and as I human I admire anyone who has the courage to take it on and sit there naked on stage trying to put their stamp on one of the most difficult works imaginable. Hooray for you!
Words will never be enough to express how beautiful this prelude is to my eyes (and ears), performed by such a wonderful artist, it really did touch my heart and soul.....Thank you so much Mrs Inbal Segev !!!

I like this recording better than the Mischa Maisky one that has 11 million views.
However, I don't know if I'll ever find one to top the 16 year old I performed on From the Top with at Music Hall in Cincinnati (his name eludes me). Yes it was Music Hall so the acoustics were perfect BUT he also played with SO MUCH passion. It was unforgettable.
And you don't believe that Inbal plays every single one of her performances with passion? Wow!... I guess that you have a Very different definition of Passion than do I (and a few hundred thousand other like-minded lovers of cello) of this extraordinary artist on her Very old, baroque instrument.

Beautiful interpretation. Inteesting to see a few cellist using jargars up top. The string market has flooded but you know what? When everything fails I run back to jargar medium and spirochete silvers.
