Trent's smirk says it all. He sits back and knows that everyone else is about to see the Ted he's gotten to know.

Trent has always stayed faithful to being direct and not hiding from legitimate questions that are on people's minds. And Trent also knows Ted has good ways to handle the hard situations. Love Trent.

Ted is very good at selling his ideals to the people he works with. I think Trent is the one who enables him to share it with the wider audience.

“Ah Trent Crimm, bringing that heat.”
I like that subtle inside joke Ted gives to Trent, knowing that both of them most uncomfortably shared the hottest meal either of them have ever had much earlier in their relationship.

After Ted getting bashed by reporters, Trent’s question at face value is kind of a punch to the gut type question. But after the scene finished, I feel Trent knew Ted’s good heartedness and knew that Ted would knock that question out of the park. Just my two cents…carry on.

ever since Trent's interview with Ted, I feel like every one of Trent's questions in a press briefing is an intentional challenge. Trent knows of Ted's good nature and admirable character, but Trent is also a hard-hitting journalist. I feel like he asks the tough questions because he wants to reveal to others the goodness of Ted, but also he wants to challenge Ted because he knows Ted can take it

"It's funny, the things in your life that can make you cry, just knowing they existed... and then become the same things that make you cry knowing that they're now gone." The writing on this show is remarkable, and the acting is superb. I don't think there has ever been a better TV series. This scene, and the darts scene, are both absolutely incredible. Kudos to all of the writers, the actors, the producers and every one involved.
edit: I just watched this episode again and realized (how did I miss this?) that Ted is not just talking about universal loss, he's also talking specifically about losing his marriage. Man, this show merits multiple re-watching...

The most well written first season of any show. Simply immaculate. Pulls tears, hopes, and cheers. Rooting for the under dog is a long-standing motivator. A simple series can motivate one to become just that. We are all under dogs in life. Life is hard and often incomprehensibly difficult. And then, we overcome! And that is life! That’s what it is about. Happy new year everyone. Stay safe

I love some of the subtleties of this show's writing. Richmond Greyhounds / Earl the dog. I'm on my 3rd adopted racing greyhound as I type, and we owners love fun names. Richmond affectionately named their dog, Earl Grey by implied proxy. I think that's just a greyt reference.
