    I enjoyed seeing your bead haul. It’s so easy to go over your planned spending amount at those shows. I went to the Tucson Arizona gem/bead show 6 years ago. Over 45 shows across the city for two weeks. (4 days was enough for me ) It’s easy to lose track of your $ spent. It’s a treat to see at least once. I’ll be using beads from that haul for years yet. 😊

    Yay, yay, yay!! Samantha, your link projects are the BOMB! This is perfect for a long boho necklace that I've been imagining for quite some time. It's going to also double as a lanyard holder for an event I have next week. I'm making this with gold colored wire and a variety of black/grey gems/stones that I have not been able to figure out what to do with. I've got some lava stone, some pyrite, black pearls and something greyt that I cannot for the life of me remember what it is. But the combination of the black/grey with gold and one or two cream colored seed beads is lovely and rather elegant. Thank you so much for this tutorial and the lovely double infinity links! I am making some of the loops, using the same tools, and instead of cutting sections, I kept the wire connected to the spool and it was easier to cross the wires, with no waste. Hi Samantha I have just watched my first video of yours and I must say I'm very intrigued. I am very new to this and just started making bracelets from elastic wire. I would love to use copper wire and you make it look so easy. Will definitely be looking back for beginners videos.

      @@samanthalatimer1 what kind of copper wire do you use? Is it a wire specific for jewelry or any wire from a builders merchant. Like I said I'm new to all this and not got a clue.

    • @samanthalatimer1
      @samanthalatimer1  Před 27 dny +1

      @@traceyfairburn1803 you can pretty much use any copper wire. The smaller spools you buy can be a bit expensive, so I get mine on larger spools which works out cheaper. Electrical copper wire is just the same as long as it’s labelled “bare” or “raw” - some of them can be coated. Whilst you’re learning, you can get aluminium wire, which is quite soft, and can be a cheaper option whilst you’re getting the hang of things. I’d suggest getting some 1mm copper wire, and 0.8mm and 0.4mm, which will give you enough options for wrapping and loops etc. Hope that helps

    I could go crazy at that bead fair!! Thanks for the tutorial it's fantastic, easy to follow. I loved the purple agate in your bead haul, that would look good in this design. I was wondering for the necklace would you use steps one and three for the smaller size? I can feel some more shopping coming on so I can make the set. 😁

    Are 6-0 seed beads smaller than 6mm beads. I used 6 mm beads but the fit was very tight (maybe my loops were too big) and 4 mm beads had too small of a hole to pass the 1.0 mm wire through.

    • @samanthalatimer1
      @samanthalatimer1  Před 24 dny

      6/0 beads are approximately 4mm but they have a larger hole… usually about 1.5mm. So it’s possible this is why you’ve had a little trouble.

    Are your components different sizes between the bracelet and necklace? The picture makes the necklace one have the appearance of smaller components. If so, which sections on your bail pliers are used?

    • @samanthalatimer1
      @samanthalatimer1  Před měsícem +1

      They are different sizes, yes. I used the 4cm lengths of wire, for the smaller ones, and the 1st and 4th steps. You can just experiment with your steps and lengths of wire… this is just for ideas 🥰
