Hello. After you take these steps shown.. go to setting > system > control other devices. This should let ypu use just the fire stick. you can change the settings on your stick to only use 1 remote!!!
If you still have issues, also do this... On you stick go to settings > equipment control > manage equipment > tv > change tv.
You don’t need an additional remote.
On Roku:
- Go to Settings
- Select ‘System’
- Select ‘Power’
- Select ‘Power On’ and choose which input you want your TV to always power on to

No you can't. The firestick remote can only power on/off the Roku TV or increase/decrease volume. Otherwise you can't use either platform's remote to control the other.

@@user-tg2ek2hg9m thank you so much! I can’t be bothered with two remotes. It’s such a pain. Now I just have to figure out how, when I turn my tv on it goes right to the Fire TV home page rather than Observe the Home Roku screen. Any ideas? You’ve been so helpful, I thought you might know. 😂

Yes you need a remote to set this up... at least so you can select the hdmi input that the firestick is connected to. After that, you can use the Firestick remote to operate the firestick.

My ROKU TV's don't have a selection called TV INPUT !!!!!! FRUSTRATED and can't get my Fire TV stick to work on my ROKU.
My firestick remote will not nagavate my firestick but will turn off my tv why my remote not working
Afew things you can do;
- check that the remote's batteries are still working.
- you can reset the remote but pressing the reset button in the battery compartment

All you need is micro USB cable. One end goes to the firestick and the other end goes to one of the TV's USB port for power. This cable comes with your firestick but any micro USB cable should do. Alternatively you can use your wall socket to power the firestick using the included cable and power plug.
