On top of that amare got hurt in the playoffs that year so he was playing catch up. then coaching changes and new players. Now i bet he will be back with everything normal again and they have some chemistry too.
amare is worse but he isn't a bad player. he had his own issues to deal with and hopefully should be better this season. we never had a good pg besides billups that one short time so that is why the offense was not smooth. felton should be able to fix this issue. i do agree melo needs to pass more but you can see he was doing this around april ever since the new coach woodson took over.
before melo came to new york, amare was a monster on the knicks and his supporting cast wasnt bad either. melo is a superstar no doubt about it, but there's also no question that he ruins chemistry

Star players andrew bynum useless to them, that'd be the knicks with Amar'e. Pressure would be on him a LOT more to return and play big minutes as well

The lockout came and messed up everything. We went into that year with NO PG 2011-2012 cause we signed Chandler to play center when Paul was forced to stay LA under Stern's Order... We had Shumpert running point waiting for Baron Davis back to heal.. In that time... Lin emerged and the rest was history. Until he got hurt after being exposed by Miami.
He'd have eventually left Denver but if he gave a damn about the Knicks and really wanted to "come home" he'd have waited until the end of the season after he became a free agent to sign with the Knicks sparing them from trading draft picks and players. maybe, antoni was a horrible coach (for the knicks). his style didn't suit the team. they had no defense and everybody was throwing up 3's instead of doing the logical move, like driving to the basket. and taking jr smith wasn't a good move either. all he does is stop 10 feet behind the 3 point line and fire it up. coach woodson will help the knicks. but its the little things that need to be fixed, such as melo. and figuring out how to get amare more active.
