Your Favourite Martian was great. For those fans who are either too lazy to look it up, or are just toerags, let's break down why they are gone.
Ray William Johnson, who sings as PuffPuff in the videos, was part of an enterprise called MakerStudios. Apart from YFM, they also helped him with his show, Equals 3. The studio attempted to coax a massive 40% of revenue from Ray from his show, and he declined. The studio attempted to bully him by cutting funding for the album to YFM, but when he still refused to back down, they cut production of Equals 3 until he buckled. Instead, Ray did what any sensible and intelligent individual would do. He left. However, he could only take Equals 3 with him, as that was entirely his. Your Favourite Martian was partly owned by Maker Studios, as they animated through Animonster, edited the music, and so on. This, children, is why they have retired this project, because Maker got greedy. So instead of getting mad at Ray or Jesse, get mad at them!

This comment clears up a lot, but is extremely bias. For example, I believe Maker Studios did all the animation for these videos, so 40% seems like a fair amount. What they shouldn't have done was drop the budget of =3, (If that is true) because that just isn't fair. Instead they should have negotiate a deal everyone could agree on.

Sounds like Ray made a good decision then. The greedy scumbags at Maker studios only saw dollar signs in YFM and wanted to make Equals 3's funding suffer to make YFM a success. Well at least YFM still has old videos on youtube. RIP Your Favorite Martian

Tim Rohrer unfortunately the guys behind it, Jesse Cale & Ray William Johnson, no longer read comments on anything related to YFM anymore as far as we know.
account's been abandoned, there used to be some customization on the channel and there was an icon, but it got wiped out with youtube updates, last log in was 2018 to change the name, some songs are missing because of claims or youtube removing it for no reason, it's a tombstone unless someone hacks it and restores it a bit

I had actually found this channel when I was 8 and they were still making songs. When I was 8 I couldnât really understand what most of the lyrics in their songs meant but I just liked the style of their music. Now 14, listening to these guys now, it kinda brings nostalgia but the songs are more enjoyable because I better understand them.

+Nyoom actual the reason it happened was the partner they were with were being greedy and wanted to take a cut of his personal channel
Actually Maker studios where the ones funding YFM and all revenue produced by it went through Johnson's AdSense revenue, once they announced the album Maker studios asked for more control over the intellectual property and a larger share of the revenue, after Ray refused Maker studios had to cut funding.

+Erogone Rider from what I can tell from story a while back was that the studio wanted to re-write the contract as the old one was about to end, Ray didn't agree with the new contract and not only refused it but broke his existing one as well, Ray then left so the studio had to cut funding as they no longer had a lead singer

I remember I first came upon this channel when I was 12 watching CZcams on my Xbox, this video was a month old and I spent my whole October/November telling my friends about YFM, the douchebag song and listening to everything else and even watched the animated series. I was eager to see their album and their next music video, but 2, 3, 4, months past and nothing happened here I missed out on a great era of CZcams. 2 years later I look back here and I see this channel in a different way. Just a whole bunch of memories.
I've seen CZcams change so much ever since I have started watching GTA videos In the summer of 2010. I always try to find those videos I enjoyed so much when I was younger and I just can't help but ride the nostalgia train these days. someday I might look at this comment again, and I wonder what I'll think about it. I use to see CZcams of a place where I see people record games on bandicam or fraps in 240p and edited in windows media player, I then saw it as people who made game videos and dedicate time and effort to a series (Northernlion's The binding of Issac I started around episode 330), I then saw CZcams channels that were small turn into million dollar powerhouses (pewdiepie), I enjoyed thins like Achievement Hunter, the mold Machinima, and even watched some IGN. I've seen things fall apart on CZcams and sometimes its just sad

Back in those old days, i used to watch eddsworld alot and it was very popular that day, but since edd died, it seems like it became smaller even do the show is keep going on. Just like this, the past and the future is different. Some of the olds thing nao become memory and some new things or other old things changes as the time goes. Let's leave the past behind. SuperShah201 I don't. The songs after 8 bit world weren't very good. Compare alien to club villian. Club villian still stands as my favorite yfm song, and while alien isn't bad, compare them. Club villian is way better, and that's the problem. Gen 1 was awesome, gen 2 and 3 didn't do anything amazing besides being an animated music video. Gen 1 had good music, and it was good animation. Gen 2 had animation that was better, but most of the music sucked, like nerd rage and dookey fresh. The best course of action was to shut it down before they killed it themselves
