I don't think it sounds AI-y, but maybe because I've stumbled across loads of AI narrated audiobooks recently and the difference is STARK. Incorrect emphasis of words, grammar not followed properly and quite often the wrong version of a word is read out. For example, saying "LED" instead of "LEED" when referring to the word "LEAD" in the context of: "my dog's lead is black".
