I have the mid boot version of these. Had them for 3 years. The continental rubber is amazing. I might get another 2 years out of them. I only use them for hiking. I hike/walk every week. I’m usually a UK 9.5 but with adidas terrex I’m a UK 10.
I found that the toe box has widened a little so it feels like there is more room but not too much.
You are correct, the gore tex is awesome. I’ve ordered the Swift R2 Gore tex shoe (not boot) for less technical hikes that I don’t need ankle support for. Really looking forward to those.

I preferred these to the R3s. They felt more comfortable and i liked the quick lace system better.

Since Adidas has acquired Salomon, are the design and features similar? If you were blindfolded and never allowed to touch it, would you be able to immediately recognize it?
If you had to choose one, dollar:longevity, which one would you choose?

I may be having to move back to kingsport,tn to look after my 83 yr old father. I just might buy these so I can go over to Hampton or over by erwin,tn to go hiking on the AT.
I am also considering buying some altra mint onc or Olympus ultra. Might also consider buying the lighter altra lone peak 6 or hoka one one speed goats.
My ultimate goal when I can retire in 6 more years is to attempt to do a thru hike on the AT.

How did you usually wash them ? They look brand new from the upside.

Hello! I used a general purpose sneaker cleaner from Target I believe. I've also used OxiClean diluted down with water and a small brush to gently clean them off.

Nice! I just replaced mine with another pair. Same quick lace system. The new Terrex model has switched back to regular laces I believe.
