    This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, April 18th 1980.
    About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
    The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical purposes. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 4,500+ (and counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please visit us at:

      Zayre's toy department reminds me of Toys' R Us when that toystore was in it's prime.

    My cousins and I used to trash the toy section at Zayre and Venture. Don't know why our mothers even brought us. Maybe that's why we all had to stay in the car when we got older....good times!

    omg i remember a zayer in markham IL when I was mybe around 8 years old and then it became another store called Ames and it was similar to me. like why go out of business and open the same kind of store. I think that Ames didn't last long either. Then we started shopping at Venture and then that went under too and became a Big K. Poor little shopping center never got that store right.

  • @Sheri451
    @Sheri451 Před 9 lety +1

    Were they similar to Woolworth?

    • @starfox1
      @starfox1 Před 3 lety +2

      not really. woolworth felt way more old fashioned. zayre was more like how target is nowadays. woolworth had a really good restaurant inside though
