As a haunt actor getting ready to go into my 25th year as an actor I feel the pain and joy watching this video. I never made it to your haunt but thank you as a fellow haunters for what you did! I am not sure how I will keep emotions in check when I finish my last night as an actor. Great tribute video!

I was only part of the Hells Gate Family. But I have been to/through Statesville numerous times. I know that at Hells Gate we were all a family so I can only imagine the feeling of the final curtain call. But now Statesville and Hells Gate are one big dysfunctional family... Love It.. Good luck to each and every one of you.

Alternating between smiling so much my face hurt and just openly weeping. Truly a beautiful tribute to a uniquely spectacular place. The time I spent in this building with these people...has affected me in ways I can't really describe. It really was just....special.

37 minute DOTLD video? What. A. Treat. Didn't think it was possible to pack so much emotion into one episode. I've been a follower for many years, watched all of your videos but sadly never made it to Statesville. Thank you for taking me along your journey. I've never even been to this place or met these people but still cried while watching this - haha. This channel doesn't get the views or subscribers it truly deserves. Wishing you all the best with Hells Gate and what the future holds.

Ive now seen this 3 times. Im still just chilling here sobbing. SV took a weird anxious scared and depressed little girl from a big family 12 years ago and helped make me a confident loud (obnoxious) individual who knows their worth. This place has influenced my life in more ways than I could possibly know. This doc so beautifully captures the spirit and love in those halls.
That ending is cruel af though. Like big oof

Wow man this really hit my heart watching this.. I’ll never forget this era till the day that I die. I always heard about statesville back in highschool but I was always so nervous to go. I then stumbled upon this channel and I remember just getting so excited to finally face my fears and go.. and in October 16 2016 I finally faced my fears and found one of my biggest obsessions.. haunted houses. The beginning of something so fucking awesome in my life all began with this place and I couldn’t be happier knowing statesville started it all for me. Thank you daysofthelivingdead and John and company for making Octobers and beyond something that helps me escape reality! Cheers 🍻
