I think one of my favorite bits was when Drew picked an audience member for a song bit in the style of river dance. Wayne having her dance along.
Wayne "I didn't know she could actually river dance."
We’re watching animal Pôrñ quote Colin mockery
Please make a version of this list for the UK version of the show. If you pay attention to the comments, you have a decent amount of commenters noting that this is a US specific list.
We want John Sessions, Tony Slattery, Josie Lawrence, and Greg Proops to get more air time, laughs, and love... and yes, Clive Anderson too. He was a terrific host.
I thought for sure Richard Simmons was the number one. It should have been
Horward.
The Era of Drew Carey as the host of WLIIA was the best.
Fo sho😂
Yeah
Even fans of the current iteration agree with you. Haha
I like Tyler but it isn't the same as when Drew was hosting. She is a very nice lady though. Met her a few times at the TV studio I worked at.
@@Michael.Sandoval33 it's because of Drew's friendship with Ryan Styles.
God. Colin and Ryan messing with each other is just the best.
Nothing is better in terms of improv....I wish Colin would've been in more movies and shows...so underrated
Agreed!
@@rainman42 He is a frequent on Murdoch Mysteries but not a comedic role. He is hilarious.
Stick with a nose!
They are the heart of the show, and I like it
They don't go wrong. They get even better!
If you think about it, if it's this hilarious, how can it go wrong? 😂
I loved how they mocked Cleveland for Drew: "This just in...Beverly Hills 90210, Cleveland Browns 3".
Thank you Canada for giving us Colin.
(He was born in Scotland. But you're welcome anyway).
No problem
@@choosecarefully408 Ireland
He's just a loaner.
Colin was such a boss during the Richard Simmons skit.
I was never a Richard Simmons fan.
@@ronfehr7899 couldn't have said it any better...🤨
@@koriw1701 Thanks. I just found him very annoying.
Richard Simmons is the best! I watch it every now and then to see the cast lose it - poor Drew!!! 😂
Gotta disagree with you Kari. I never cared for Richard Simmons.
Forgot the time where Ryan always says "what do I look like" and then Colin retorts "I'll tell you what you look like. A big stick with a big nose" 😂
Nothing ever goes wrong in Whose line is it anyway, it only evolves into a priceless moment
Colin was the best at call backs. The "meow" that broke the Irish drinking song was actually a running gag throughout the show.
The cat!!
IIRC "The Meow' recurring joke started in Scenes from a Hat
Colin & Ryan are the best comedic duo I have ever had the pleasure to watch.
Before them, there was Tim Conway and Harvey Korman. Colin & Ryan are even better, as we see so much more of them and they are both adlibbing.
I can see a movie with them in it. Reminiscent of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
lol agreed
Colin has the ability to conjure up the most unexpected bits. You never know what he'll say next.
The Richard Simmons routine is THE FUNNIEST and most awkward and embarrassing routines of ALL TIME!!!
"Welcome to the 6 o' clock news. I'm your anchorman: Brice is Right." XD
I think the best part of Colin's performance is his ability to keep a serious face while saying hilarious jokes. And it's all improv. Genius.
They all do that. 🤦♂️ Non-improv comedians always do that as well. 😒jfc
To follow up on the #1 entry, here's what originally happened. During Scenes From a Hat, one suggestion was "If dogs appeared on talk shows". Ryan went up and told Colin "Jerry, I'm hear to tell my husband I'm in love with a cat", to which Colin says "Meow". It continues in Hats, when he has a viking-like helmet on, saying "Let me help you hit those high notes. Meow".
And Ryan doesn't just randomly blurb nonsense. The second and fourth lines of the Irish Drinking Song are supposed to rhyme, so when Drew messes up with "Girl-url-urley-ley", Ryan doesn't get a lot to work with, and he made sure Drew knew that.
They also had a skit of dubbing of old film then Colin said "Meow".
*Ryan starts to chuckle*
Colin: So you've chosen death.
Watching Whose Line bloopers never fails to lift my spirits. Doesn't matter if I know them all word-for-word now
Me, too!
I'm so happy "Horward" was on here, it's one of my favorite Whose Line moments. Poor Wayne LOL.
Same! That and Ryan breaking the glass are at the top of the list of moments for me.
"Tapioca" is my favorite. You can see Ryan trying to keep it together and he's just starting to get under control when just looking at Colin sets him off.
Not in an order:
1. Tapioca
2. BackStreet Boys
3. Meow
4. Nice Pants
All Colin. ❤
Greatest hits where Colin just blurts out, “we’re watching animal porn!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Followed by "we'll return to Mary Had A Little Lamb" causing more laughter
So happy!
Absolutely the best 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The look he gives afterwards is so priceless
That was the best one.😆
I think that the time Colin was Fluffing his Garfield was hilarious in the "If You know What I Mean" game. They kept it as a running joke through the episode. That's something that's always stuck with me from this show.
I love how everyone is worried and checking on Ryan when he breaks the light but Colin just can't stop laughing. You know only best friends do that.
Dedication to improv. He was so into it lol
When it initially happened, he was horrified, but Ryan kept going, so Colin knew that whatever happened, it wasn't serious and he lost it over how funny it was. Drew couldn't even stay in his chair when he was sure Ryan was okay.
#1 is easily the Richard Simmons episode. Still to this day, I’ve never seen anything on television that has made me laugh that hard, for that long. That show was pure gold.
Ryan laughing is so rare apparently, that most of the clips are of him doing so.
Love the list, but I think Ryan breaking the glass and staying in character should've been number 1.
Richard us number 1 in my book
Wayne is the talent
Ryan is the setup
Colin is the genius
Not far off, but they are all everything too. Anything else in the show can change and as long as you have one of those people, it is going to be a good time.
Actually Wayne is kinda mediocre tbh.
@ Wayne is by far the best at any of the singing games, something which Ryan in particular has never been a fan of. I wouldn't call any of them mediocre, they are all brilliant in their own ways. Ryan is probably the most talented in terms of improv and comedy though
@@amystar2357 Yeah beating someone at something they hate is easy. Though tbh Colin runs almost as fast on the singing. I'd give him the best even tbh. Seen Wayne trip up a lot there too.
@ - If you think Colin keeps up ("or even the best") against Wayne on singing, then you're either drunk or trolling. So I'm not going to bother commenting further to your foolishness.
On its original run, this was the best live-action show on TV. Got to see them live in 2003; 18 years later, still one of the best nights out I ever had
Another show the Americans nicked from us
You went to England to see the original run show?
I'm surprised she said "The original" speaking of the American show while also mentioning Clive, who was the original in Britain.
@@MrPaulpops2003 We didn't nick the show from you. The creator, Mark Leveson, brought the show to America.
I absolutely loved watching this show. I had such a crush on Ryan. Colin and Ryan, the way they bounced their jokes off each other, their interaction, is pure magic. I just try to imagine Drew as a Marine, and think once he got into the fleet, he must have had half his platoon in hysterics. I really miss this show.
This show will never get old. Ryan and Colin always work so well together. And anytime you see Drew just falling out of his chair laughing is great.
Damn, Drew was such and amazing part of the show no matter how you look at it, his laugh is so contagious you can't stop lauding with him.
He was always the fifth contestant in my eyes. And while the chemistry with Ayisha has developed since the first season of the new show, it's never been the way it was with Drew. RIP Drew Carey.
Made you look.
WLIIA is pure perfection, the most pure essence of performance. It never goes wrong, it just takes an unexpected turn!
I remember one where Ryan was a "prop" and was being manipulated by an audience member. He had one foot up or something and as she grabbed his other leg he said "if you raise that leg I will fall down!"
I need to see that episode
"Whose Line...?" was such a great show!! I met Colin Mochrie, once, and he's a great human! ❤
There is a youtube where drama students question Brad Sherwood and Colin. Both of them are great human beings.
I’ve seen Colin and Brad about 60 times since 2003, and after the show all but a handful of shows. They are without a doubt two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.
“And what sound does an Arctic Turn make?”
“BACKSTREET BOYS!
arctic tern....not mockingbird
@@newageBoundhippie That’s right. My bad!
Yeah, everyone knows Mockinbird's say "N'Sync"
That one gets me every time!
The reactions to the Richard Simmons episode are priceless, I die of laughter everytime I see it!
This was the absolute best
My favourite episode!
This show added years to my life. Amazing cast
Watching Colin and Ryan always remind me of Tim Conway and Harvey Korman trying to break each other up! Nothing funnier than making another comedian break character! PRICELESS
Sometimes breaking character becomes an unfunny, cheap gimmick: Harvey never tried to break Tim and he always tried his best to *not* break character. Same with Colin and Ryan: they are trying to make us laugh, not to disrupt the show on purpose.
The sketch with Colin, Ryan, and the synchronized swimmers was hilarious.
I would've preferred the news report where Colin was trying to figure out he was on the green screen behind him and said ,"It all started with a badly timed bald joke," and the audience laughed like crazy!
Wait! THE CAT! I remember my friend and I doing that bit for WEEKS after that aired
An honorable mention for me was when Wayne sings to the retired lunch lady, Lee.
"Because you get to have... a little spaghetti
And two great meatballs!"
lmao he could barely get the rest out hahaha I die laughing every time still.
OOHHH LEE!
@Ian Gordon The "no" is unnecessary lol my statement still stands BUT when he accidentally lifted up that girls skirt would go well on the list. I felt bad for both of them though.
omg the way Wayne blushed over that
Wayne having to sing to Jane the Bodybuilder and her catching his third leg.
_That_ was the best song styles EVER!!!
Even if they went wrong they are batshit hilarious 🤣
New episodes: Colin is surprisingly strong
Old episodes: Colin is surprisingly a great dancer, and very flexible.
My two favorite clips will always be Ryan's head breaking the glass and the one where Colin is the reporter in front of green screen and they're showing clips of him from previous episodes.
Ryan’s head breaking the glass is my favorite.
Good lord, this show was and still is flat out amazing. The cast making Drew burst out into laughter always made me crack up as well
I don't know how the Richard Simmons bit isn't number one. I laugh so hard I cry every time I watch it.
Colin and Ryan are honestly the best comedy duo in my opinion
You guys could easily make 10 more versions of this without repeating a clip.
Mary had a little lamb will be right back.
Easily!😂
Robin Williams on Whose Line should be here. He was hilarious, and made Colin laugh many times
Someone needs to bring this show back! I miss it! And we all could use some more laughs in our lives!
Always loved this show, the trio of Wayne, Ryan & Colin worked so well together, a great chemistry & extremely funny
"No one ever knows what Colin Mochrie is going to do...even Colin." This is the best description of this show I've ever heard. 🤣
I remembered that Richard Simmons skit, i was laughing my *SS off just like the audience and Drew, one of the funniest things I saw on TV.
I'm really hoping the Irish drinking song where Colin just goes MEOW because everyone else breaks down in laughter is on the list 🤣
That was Colin
Ryan just went blah blah blah then Colin meow
@@MarioNavi yeah I just realized that I wrote the wrong name 😆😆😆
10:54 "Drew gets a bit Careyd away..." The greatest unintentional pun. :D
The episode with Bill Cosby and “The Insurance Salesman” made me laugh how drew pointed out how it wasn’t ok to offend the Europeans but the indigenous people were free game.
I swear, the moments that went way out of control were fantastic abdominal workouts. No joke; Simmons had me DYING with the whole telescopes, deck chairs, and jet skis thing. 😂🤣😂
"Cops & Ducks" is fantastic, and "Horward" was bizarre, but Richard Simmons knew how to crank the insanity dial to 11, if ya know what I mean! 😂
And Colin nails the jet ski punchline by lighting a cigarette after. Genius.
The nostalgia is wonderful! Laughter is the best medicine!
Colin and Ryan are and have always been my favorite but Drew's laugh is like sweet music.
I find the lack of Colin's "animal porn" comment and the Melissa incident disturbing....
The Melissa hoedown was the best
@@jodybingo especially once you learn they did multiple hoedowns during that taping and Ryan kept mentioning her underwear/ass 😂
@@jodybingo Mine was Irish Drinking Song, because Colin ALWAYS made it his mission to break everyone at the end.
Both were more embarrassing than anything. & less family-friendly.
Hey, Melissa didn't press charges. Let's just be happy about that.
@@choosecarefully408 buzz off, Buzz Killington. it's fucking IMPROV. and since when are these guys family friendly? They've ALWAYS gone for the raunchy jokes, the innuendo, the language that will obviously get censored...JFC you talk like the Melissa thing was intentional on Wayne's part, but ALL parties involved understood it was an accident and everyone had a sense of humor about it. and the "animal porn" joke was another rare moment when Ryan broke, it was funny as hell
The Cat! Made giggle and explode in laughter. Love to see that watchmojo made another "WLIIA" but I gotta say drew Carey was great host and a great chemistry
Nothing ever went wrong on whose line. Everything is hilariously perfect
I remember watching the Richard Simmons one with my wife and kids. We were all dying and in tears. One of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV or in the movies.
The ORIGINAL Whose Line was British and hosted by Clive Anderson. Colin & Ryan were both regulars on that show. Drew was the first host of the American version.
Colin crippled every cast member on that show with his improv… but ryan got it the worst!
Colin is the GOAT
People don't realize that the quick-fire improv done on WLIIA isn't done anywhere else. They usually take a few minutes, build up some background. Colin has gone on record saying he often feels like he's forced to do things he wouldn't otherwise.
So he made it his job to break up the others. He says that when they laugh, that allows him to keep his cool all the more.
This is one of my favourite lists. I love whose line back in my youth and still makes me giggle.
When the video started I shouted “Richard Simmons!” I wasn’t disappointed! 😂😂😂😂
My favorite with the Richard Simmons "Living Scenery" is Greg saying "I'm just so happy"
The Arctic turn / backstreet boys was the best for me, gets me every time
I cackle every freaking time
They are all so talented and all have standout performances but Colin is amazing The Tapioca song! He kills me
Seeing Wayne break in the background of the “Cat” bit was the best.
So many 'Greatest Hits' examples because it was the best skit they did! Colin and Ryan's chemistry is the best!
This show was hilarious! Drew Carey should've stayed with it. Or Drew Carey should've at least stuck with his sitcom.
The best was when Ryan smashed his head on Drew's desk while doing Carol Channing. xD
They didn’t show Colin’s line at the end. “It would have been better if your head burst into flames,”
Nah. They went downhill when the show started devolving into Ryan vs. Colin.
I think the producers shouldn't have put the show up against Friend's on the same night?
Robin Williams as their guest was the funniest bit ever
I’m surprised that didn’t make the top 20.
I'm disappointed that didn't make the list
My own funniest guest had to be Richard Simmons
Robin Williams is the GOAT. RIP, you are greatly missed.❤😪
Those women going "quack quack quack" caught everyone off guard. They were gold
This is by FAR the best Watchmojo I have EVER SEEN!!! I was dying of laughter the Entire time. The only time my dad ever let us stay up past our bedtime. The nostalgia was off the charts!!
What ever happened to shows like this?!? When’s the last time you literally knee slapped and belly laughed your way to tears and side stitches from ANY modern television show? I’ll go first…it hasn’t happened! I love these guys and this show is brilliant!
It was the best comedy show ever. No scripted lines; totally dependent upon comic personality and originality. I'm not sure we'll ever again see this quality of quick and nimble minds, but Lord, I hope our culture has not lost them altogether. I sure hope these fellas have continued with their talents. We sorely need what they supplied.
@@jamesrobiscoe1174 A lot of them have returned for the Aisha Tyler version of the show as well. Colin and Brad tour doing a show called "Scared Scriptless" (formerly Two Man Group), and Ryan, Greg, and Jeff Davis tour along with Joel Murray in a show called Whose Live? During the time Whose Line was off the air, they also had a show called Drew Carey's Improvaganza that emanated from a theater in Las Vegas, that was very much like Whose Line, except Drew participated more in the games and not as the host.
The Drew Carey era was, by MILES, the best era of the show.
Agreed. They all had such good rapport and played off each other very well.
It helps that Drew can take the jokes as well…as best as he could. They have such great comedic chemistry
how is Richard Simmons not #1?! That skit with him went down the toilet in less than a minute. I don't think I've ever seen a tv audience laugh that hard anywhere else.
I recall being on the ground in heaving hysterics when it aired.
So glad you chose my three favorite moments... Arctic Tern, Tapioca and Meow! Makes me laugh every time!!
Ahhh the Nostalgia just hit me in the stomach. I loved the old Whose Line!
Watchmojo employee:
"I got a great idea for a video!
Let's explain jokes and funny stuff!"
Yep. I just unsubscribed because the announcers on these videos constantly ruin the list. If they'd just shut up and let us watch it'd be fine, but instead they explain everything as if we are dumber than dirt.
Excellent compilation. However, I highly recommend the "Lunch Lady" sketch. It's hilarious!
“Boy was I embarrassed when I found out she was my mother” gets me every time
The Richard Simmons skit was the funniest 5 minutes i ever saw - my sides ached
I’ve been binging this at night… this is a great show.
Totally agree with number 1, that is my favourite moment from the show along with Ryan accidentally smashing the light bulb.
Man, the late 90's and early 00's wouldn't be as classic and steadfast if WLIIA hadn't come about. During its early and teenage years, it was a staple for me. My two favorite acts were the props sketches and the green screen.
Loved the early seasons with Drew Carey. Just not the same anymore
In fairness to Ryan on #1, Drew stumbled over his words and knew he had messed up. That's what makes it even funnier!
That sneaky side eye after _"PAT BENATAR,"_ gets me every time
This TV show, the US version with Drew Carrey, is an golden Era and an American past time of weekly American TV. No matter where you are from in the US, if you grew up or watched tv in the late 90s to early 2000s, you more than likely watched this show. Speaking from the Navajo deserts of NM: I grew up watching this show religiously, and even in this year of 2021: I can literally repeat every segment in this watchmojo video word for word. Literally cried laughing rewatching all these segments.
I’ve watched the Whose Line bloopers and I actually laughed so hard I laughed myself out. I couldn’t laugh anymore 😂 They’re so hilarious!
I'm shocked Colin and Ryan's kiss was nowhere on the list.
Which kiss? They've done that a lot.
One of my favorite bits is when Colin was a news anchor, giving out the top story, beside his coanchor who was always given some random affliction. I used to get and come up with my own anchorman gags. One that I was most proud of was:
Good evening and welcome to the 6 o'clock news. I'm your anchor, Courtney Hotgymnast. Tonight's top story: Old man Toothless Gummington was arrested under suspicion of spearheading a heist at the oral health clinic. When questioned about his potential involvement, it was determined that he was being untruthful, as he became so agitated and nervous by the line of questioning that his dentures fell out. He failed the Polygrip test.
Yeah. I'm nowhere near as clever as Colin! 😅
I was hoping to see my favorite moment, Ryan banging his head. You did not disappoint! Thank you! 😂😂😂
The episode with Robin Williams is my all time favorite
"And then I said, Grandma, get off me!"
Ryan and Colin is the non stoner version of Cheech and Chong :D I've laughed more at these 21 minutes than I have for the whole 10 years worth of SNL
Truth right there!
I was expecting the "Melissa incident" to be on this list.
Number two (Richard Simmons) should have been number one on the list. When you've got literally everyone doubled over in hysterics, you know you've hit comedy gold!
