I agree there is no wheel that's a starter wheel, I have an Ashford traditional I got for my 21st birthday, and it's still going strong and I've just turned 63! My goodness where have the years disappeared to! I've got a schacht matchless that I inherited from a family friend and I love spinning on her also and it was pretty old when I got it and it spins beautiful. Thank you for your pros and cons of the ladybug🐞. Cheers!

Thank you for doing this!! I've been looking at this wheel because I have two small kiddos and I need a sturdy workhorse that can easily be set up and moved around as opportunity strikes. I was always put off by the whole "beginner wheel" thing, because I didn't want to invest in a wheel I'll grow out of. I have others, but they are NOT kid friendly or easy to move. Thank you Thank you!! 😊

I feel as you do about your LadyBug. I love it Sandall the things you said. I think this is a great demo review for someone looking for a wheel. Thank you for pointing out that the LadyBug should not be looked at as a "beginner wheel" and explaining that statement by showing and telling.

I purchased a used Ladybug last summer while staying in another state to give in-home care for my mother. It is a 2009 model, and was missing several small parts. I was able to purchase all the parts needed from Schacht, and I thought it was amazing to have them still support an older model wheel. I was hoping it would do all that I needed and not be just a "beginner" wheel. I normally spin fairly thin, and then ply to get the yarn structure I'm aiming for. This little bug has been wonderful to work on. I have no problems spinning as fine as I choose, and yet can still spin a thicker yarn well. I found it very responsive and smooth as well. This was a very nice review; thank you!

I have the ladybug and currently bought the jumbo flyer. Can't wait to install it!
However, I have questions about the double drive. I currently have it on double drive but I'm not sure if I've done it right or what to expect from it in spinning.
I prefer to spin thinner yarns at the moment. I figured the bulky flyer bobbins can hold more continuous yarn resulting in fewer ends to weave in 😄 depending on the project.
My trouble is with the double drive and plying. It winds on the bobbin loose is that normal? How do you suppose I fix that.
Sorry so many questions. I don't have much places to learn about the ladybug wheel specifically could you help or suggest places to look for that info? Thank you for your time and this video!

My ladybug flyer is way different. Is that a newer feature?

Could you have warmed the eyes up slightly and opened out their shape a little?

Is it hard to put together

No, easy peasy. Just go with the instructions and sail away.
