Al-khemi is called Kimiyagiri in Indian sadhu baba system.
From a very close reference i know that a Nath Yogi in Himalaya converted wood piece in 24 carat gold using some liquid (heating wood piece with that liquid)....
That gold piece was given to Mohanlal agrawal (i met hin in 2009) who sold it in Nepal and used money for 2 months sustenance, air travel, food and charity.
Note - These people are extremely pure class beings. Always doing Tapasya. Helping other with their Spiritual power as and when needed. (Later mohanlal and other Yogi of Vaishnav sect used root of black turmeric to revive a body of another Yogi who died (in reverse samadhi state .... Leading to block at Nabhi point - point of Nafs...) many months ago then. He was also tapasvi.
Later mohanlal revealed me that his one dada Guru was in meditative state since last 900 years. And came to normal life again in 2003 i think. And in 2008, that baba again went into samadhi.
