Brian Sumner came from Liverpool, England to enjoy the lifestyle of a professional skateboarder. Riding for Tony Hawk’s company, Brian’s life centered only on himself and the trappings of success. Skateboarding was his first love, by far.
At age nineteen he fell in love again, and shortly thereafter went to Las Vegas and was married. Soon a child was on its way, and with it came lifestyle and relational changes that the young couple did not expect. Fighting all the time, the anger welled inside Sumner. Life was chaotic, and reached a pinnacle when a brush with the police put him in community service.
His experience at a Christian thrift store was the starting point of a change in his life. Today he is no longer angry, but second.
Didn't see these old comments, but my comments on Old Testament Law are in the context of time. Jesus didn't do away with The Law, He fulfilled it, meaning it was all pointing to Him and His coming, and His being the High priest, the lamb to be slain, the scape goat, the once and for all sacrifice. The Law is still in place because we are told in The New Testament that those who are not in Christ, are still condemned, still guilty, because of what God gave Moses, as a witness against us all. As far as whoever was commenting on how my life wasn't bad compared to others, and that there are bad things happening in our world, so where is God, we can only experience our lives, and for my life, while divorced, and over everything it was bad enough for me to cry out to God. Life doesn't have to be this bad to need to cry out to God, someone can have the best life ever, but they still need Jesus's forgiveness. The reason bad things happen, be it starving children, wars, death, is because we live in a cursed world. I had an experience with God, through Jesus Christ that changed my life. All these comments, opinions, and differences, will pass away with us, but its what happens here in this world that changes the outcome of where we end up when His Kingdom comes... Jesus Christ died for our sins, and rose again proving He overcame death... Wow!

+Brian Sumner God bless you brother, I just came across your testimony on another video and ended up here. I am an old 80's- early 90's skater but no longer skate but I still feel that urge inside to get up and skate, I see drive ways and think man that has the perfect lip for an ollie!. I have recently found out that some of my old skate icons are born again believers like Lance Mountain,Cab,Hosoi,and Ray Barbee , I wasn't a believer when I skated but to know that those guy's are my brothers in Christ is an awesome feeling and even though I didn't know who you were before today it is awesome to see that you love the Lord and He has restored your marriage and family. I've been walking with the Lord for 18yrs now and I would never go back to what I was, I pray that the Lord will continue to shine His face upon you and your family and give you His favor in every situation and may His glory rest upon you in Jesus name, Amen!!

he was at my skatepark today for a demo, it was so cool!! he stopped everyone and had them stand around him and told us about god and i got a picture with him, one of my favorite skaters now
Had the chance to host Brian at the Extol Skate Jam in 2015 and 2016. He did a fantastic job of sharing his story to hundreds.
It's cool to think that his life completely changed. And his accent? It think it's pretty cool. He's doing great, sharing all over the world. Incredible testimony!

Heard a GREAT sermon by Brian today. I prayed to God on the way to church....let them speak truth today God. Because sometimes at this church...I feel like they're not teaching the Bible. But mother-in-law wanted to go to THAT church. And I thought about the times they'd pray to be washed in fire. I knew that was wrong. And I thought about how my mother-in-law has converted to Judaism and follows laws that I don't believe are right for her.
And today Brian covered everything that I prayed about and more. And he spoke the TRUTH. Which is so refreshing in church because no one wants to address specifics of how depraved our culture is and how lost some Christian's are.

I felt like I knew Gods Spirit was there, The Holy Spirit, an encounter you have upon Jesus forgiving you. Not some image, or figure walking in the room. It was very real, and once you know it has happened, its a done deal. Hope that helps. Read John 3 about being born again... ; )

Friends, You will know God's presence is there with you when your knees feel weak and a overwhelming need to think of him and talk to him comes over you. I guarantee if you ask him to forgive you the same way Brian did (in his presence) you will get up and feel a change inside of you, a weight lifted off you and you will want to immediately thank him and tell everyone what happened to you. That is when you know you are in Gods presence and you are ready to meet him.

The fact is, whether or not you want to believe the gospel, Jesus Christ has been changing lives for 2000 years and still continues to. He saved me from crystal meth addiction and healed my heart and soul. And many are those with stories like Brain's and mine. Jesus Christ changes lives and saves, period.
It seems most of us have to crash and burn and then be flat on our face and cry out to God to come to Him, find Him, accept Him and live a life pleasing to God. He is First.

Awesome… we keep consecrating all our pain and issues to him. Send to the sacred human Jesus, receive the wisdom from him to show you the way to your unique and individual real life. That’s why God sent the human to connect with the human. Otherwise it’s satan in thought decoying you and assisting you avoiding your truth with more fake and lies. If only people realised this has been existing in hell already without Jesus. It’s a journey of rediscovery, people don’t see it until they do.
Jesus says to me, you are a sceptic until know through experience. An unawakened mind just doesn’t get it because they haven’t experienced the miracles and been on knees to be saved.

This testimony speaks well to me. I'm not married, never even been in a official relationship, I'm in a emotional difficult situation right now. I'm scared. I'm 29.

No I tried cleaning myself up and kept using drugs everyday. I didn't know what to do, so I tried praying. For me it was my last resort. God came and touched my heart. It wasn't until I had a revelation of the love of Christ for me that I was able to change. Jesus died for the sins of this world and you can reject that, but He loves you and died for you too, just as He did for me. I only hope you can accept that yourself before you die and face the judgement. I know my salvation is secure.

I remember i met him at a skate demo in the upland walmart parking lot in 1997.
I think he is saying that he literally saw God sitting in there. I know the physical evidences that proves God's existence, but faith based upon evidences is weak. If something unexplainable happens, I kinda doubt my faith. But then, I started reading the Bible, and I begin to know Him through His words. But I still wish that I am like Brian Summers who got lost and found God. God was always there for me since I was a child. But I've realized that it's better if God chastised me like Brian.

@RamsesFix Jesus truly loves you. When you understand how much Jesus loves you you will fall so unconditionally in love with him and that incomplete feeling you have will be filled with so much love and happiness. I pray that God will humble you and show you how much you matter to him.
@RamsesFix well not exactly, but i don't blame you were assuming that I am. but thats not why i said your ignorant. its because you said: "this dude thinks his life was bad", well he didn't think his life was bad, he actually said he had money and pretty much everything this world can give him, but he felt empty and lost. Those are two very different things. And if praying to Jesus isn't changing anything, well, you better believe and pray harder, maybe then there will be change.

Thats the amazing thing about God isnt it. He can love me no matter what Ive done even when I cant. The bible says many things. THe first is that God IS love which means every single example of true love we see is from him. second in 1 john 4:19 it says that we love God because he first loved us. Thats crazy! It means the only reason we can love is because we receive love from him first. Everything good is from God. It doesnt make sense he shouldnt love us but he does anyways :) go God!

@Sessilse Jesus was real, your right... he was a carpenter that hung out with losers and prostitutes. if i did come face to face with god and he asked me why i didnt except him, i would say this, "But sir, why do you go to such pains to hide yourself?" and god would laugh and apologize to me..
@SarahKateIsGreat After attending 12 years in private christian schooling, as well as working at a church for 8 years after college, I feel I have a pretty good basis for interpreting the bible.It is incorrect to state that jesus wiped away the old law. If so- do you reject the 10 commandments?In joshua it states that seasons come and go, but god's law is forever.It seems we have a contradiction in this book written by god, so how do we get around that? I am for peace, not god.

You really need to read the all the comments clearly before responding. When did I say He was just a moral teacher? I said He was the greatest moral teacher who ever lived and He was and still is. Jesus is many things. He is God in the flesh, but along with being that, He is many things, just as God is many things.

Jesus Christ was the greatest moral teacher who ever lived. 'Love your enemies and do good to those who persecute you,' came from Him alone and He actually died for us while we were His enemies. Please read the Gospels for yourself and tell me what Jesus taught or did that wasn't perfectly moral. The guy loved everyone, especially the people beat down by religion, And His story is the greatest love story ever told. Without Him they only have their religion, but with Him we have God.

Jesus died so that we can experience life that's never-ending; where there's no more pain or murder or despair, and Jesus died to bring people to redemption. All you need to do is do what Brian did: Seek God, and I dare you to try it. And I dare you to ask God to make himself known to you; it'll be the most amazing experience of your life.

I wish he didn't start believing in in imaginary beings created by men who wrote down on paper the myths that had been circulating for centuries.An example that I am better then your god- Deut. 22:18 (for you christians who don't read your damn holy book- it states if a woman is raped and she doesn't yell loud enough, she is to be stoned. I used to be an apologetic also, but there are just too many flaws too take the bible literally, or factually. And if I am to worship a god out of fear, then
i am only worshiping a monster so that it might not destroy me, but not out of any real love. Most who are introduced at a young age never deconvert, and they are imprisoned, in a way. I find it sad. I don't find my view degrades others belief. I won't apologize bringing up the many moral and ethical flaws of the bible.
