    I get this puppy in January. Absolute busting from that money. Really better then cheap Jacksons and Chapmans guitars. Mahogany body, greattt sustaine. Pickups sound powerfull and modern imo. Neck is 10/10. Bridge is nice, doing the job.

      I believe schecter and ESP are made in the same factories

    • @9hk38f
      @9hk38f Před rokem +1

      @@Official_Salem_Bathory Some LTD models, are built in the same factory, as Schecter in Korea. However, this really doesn't meant anything, when it comes to these import factories. The factories are basically rented out. And its just different companies, working in the same building. The QC standards of Schecter and LTD can vary greatly. In my experience, Schecter typically has stricter quality control. And Schecter sells more B stock, then any other brand, because of this. If you buy 10 Schecters of the same model, and 10 LTD's, you will more likely then not, find more QC issues in the LTD's. And Schecter gives you more bang for buck. You can not get a LTD, with a Fishman, a sustainiac, and a Floyd 1000, for $1,200. You can easily get that, with Schecter at that price point. Overall, you typically will get a great instrument from either. QC issues happen will all brands.

      Schecter is now ESP lol. But I agree. LTD started as a budget line but their 1000 series are sneaking into premium guitar prices. $1700 for an LTD? Damn man.
      Seems like they took their budget priorities and dumped it on Schecter.
      It is a fine line. LTD has slowly turned into using name brand parts, but that in itself is away from their original mission. while Schecter is still boldly using their own in-house stuff.
      Schecter could be the new LTD in some ways. First its own by ESP lol. But they are offering a husk of a guitar you can slowly hot rod throughout its lifespan. And possibly hot rod enough to compete with pro level guitars. Such as the O.G LTD haha

    • @DingleDangDeliDinner
      @DingleDangDeliDinner Před 21 dnem

      I stand corrected. ESP and Schecter are owned by the same person/entity. But operate as their own personalities.

    I had a Schecter Damien 6 from the diamond series for 4yrs. It was a made in china, old model of the guitar which I got used for very cheap(₹9000-which is under 100dollars).
    It had a string allignment issue, the holes on the body for bridge piece was offset by atleast 3-5 mm. It made the pull off to open string type licks on the high E non-manageable( I stopped using those licks to get around this😅).... that's the reason I got it very cheap.
    But apart from that, it was a beautiful guitar, played and felt really great, had good tones from it.
    Those EMG passives did the cleans and dirty pretty well. Schecter do have a focussed mid-range tone. I thoroughly enjoyed playing that guitar despite that one minor manufacturing flaw(it could be fixed BTW)
    That's one brand from whom I would do business in the future.

  • @Nicholas-sg7qk

    I'm not even a beginner player, and the specs on this guitar have finalized my decision to switch to Schecter as my brand of choice. Graph tech nut, mahogany body, rosewood fretboard, those beautiful burl top finish with the natural back and bolt-on maple neck. Buy one of these, put in some third party pickups of your choice, give it a quick fret polish and you're all set for a little workhorse.
    I'd like to add extra emphasis to the fact that almost every other brand uses that god awful jatoba wood at this pricepoint these days. Anyone still putting out rosewood fretboards has a special place in their heart for budget guitarists.
    Outstanding guitar reviews by the way, you've got a sub from me!

      @@ChilledGuitarReviews It's good that you made this video because this is helpful to most players, from new players to seasoned professionals. There is simply too much silly misleading witchcraft out there that tells players they have to have every ultra-pricy new shiny thing, and it just isn't so. Plenty of professionals play budget and even cheap instruments. Metallica played some rather cheap guitars even after they'd made it big and could play afford all the Jacksons and ESPs to their hearts' content, even at the point where these companies were giving them free guitars to promote their brands. I remember a discussion I had sometime last year about a world renown jazz player using a budget Yamaha. I said, "Why not? And if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for you." I've owned more Yamahas than I can count since the 80s and can attest to their quality and superb value. Schecter is one of my favorite company, from their entry level instruments, to budget priced higher quality like the Omen Elite, to their top level axes, they really deliver the goods. I love nothing more than a guitar that sounds and plays great out of the box. Schecter knows how to build them at a good price.

    If I had this thing, I'd immediatly do some drilling and put pickup frames around the pickups. The space around the humbuckers looks unfinished without frames, even if they are not required for mounting. It's like flooring without a baseboard to cover the gap between the floor boards and wall. LOL. Stratocasters don't have frames around single coils, because they are mounted in a pick guard, and the clearance is tight: no gap between the pickups and guard. Pretty much all classic guitars with humbuckers have frames on them.

    The only hesitation I have on picking this up is the bolt on neck did you notice a difference in tone and fullness in the overall sound ?

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  Před 2 lety +2

      I actually prefer the sound of a Bolt-On. I find it somehow brighter/snappier sounding. I have some pretty dead sounding Neck-thru/Set-thru guitars although once its plugged in and saturated with gain the difference isnt as apparent.

      Love the neck profile/feel/playability of those guitars. I owned one with a Floyd couple years back. Just watch out for build flaws as the Iron Label range can be very inconsistent.

    13:01 Pound for pound, the best guitar you can buy today, is a FGN (Fujigen).
    If you are a Boomer, their Neo Classic (NTE, NST, NLS/NLC) is for you.
    If you're a Zoomer, You want an Odyssey or Mythic.

      I've seen FGN pop up under the Legator umbrella of brands actually. Not overly keen on the designs but the specs and build look great!

      @@ChilledGuitarReviews FGN ghost builds Fender Japan, and Ibanez Prestige. If you buy a Japanese Ibanez AZ or RG, it was built by FGN and badged Ibanez. FGN also built all those Orville by Gibson Les Pauls from the late 80s/early 90s, and still use the same blueprints for their current designs. They are better than anything Fender or Gibson are churning out today.

    It’s not though. They’re inconsistent, nice on paper but the same exact one will never be the same as the last one. My first Red one, perfect feel and sound but holes in the fretboard, a bad nut, and damaged electronics!! Then I get the replacement in Blue this time, but bad nut, bad feel bad sound compared to the first one I bought. Then I tried yours the charcoal, it was heavier, harder too play, and needed a neck shim.
    Mora of the story, you might find a gem but most of these are just garbage
