Just went through these steps again today. The manual with this R9 camera ordered via Amazon offers a choice pick of one item out of several accessories. One is a free camera like the one you see in this video. I choose that so I have a spare camera in case there ever is a failure with the original one installed. Now the directions are clear to send them the Amazon order # and identification of your order. I did just that. They wrote back and wanted a photo of the monitor showing the menu selection on the screen. WHAT no way...I already put away everything and that's not fair. I told them I complied with everything and it's not easy to dig out the 12V battery pack and all that again as it's been repacked until our weather here in extreme NW MT warms up enough to take the cover off the RV. They came back very politely explaining their models are ever changing and upgrading. Some cameras only mate with specific models and to insure I get the right camera the photo of the menu id's that for them. So I complied and sent it off today. Now it does not match this video the menu screen lay out it's just a vertical bar you scroll down to select on. So it ended up proving their point. The menu shown here does not match or may not match your monitor if you are buying it today. I'm happy with what I saw by the way. Clear photo no color problems on the monitor and I plan to insert the camera in one of the upper running lights on rear of the 21' class B+ Ford E350 chassis RV. It's 22 years old. It had 40K miles and is in decent condition but had no TLC. No abuse either but no real updates or love shown to her. A super scrub down and new bathroom faucet, shower head and even a Dometic Toilet 310 upgrade will do wonders for her spirits. All however is on hold until it warms up. Drove her home 550 miles first of Feb. And ordered a cover for her that fit perfectly to protect her until we thaw out and arrange better storage for her this summer. Meantime a fellow owner of same brand of RV on Facebook group sent me a link to this camera on Amazon and recommended it. I much appreciated it and ordered it the following day. It has a few good options. I intend to hang it from the ceiling where the rear view mirror is either ahead of the mirror or take the mirror down. Not sure yet. I'm only 5' and so pull the seat forward and I feel the 7" monitor might get in my vision if set on the dash. I ran through all the images by reviewers on Amazon and discovered 2 using the ceiling option and one who made an interesting mount via the use of their cup holder too. But since I'm used to looking at the rear view mirror to see out the back end it makes sense to me to apply it there. Now other options with this monitor is you can plug it into the 12Volt cig. lighter socket or hardwire it too. One Review photo shows it clearly running the wires across the top edge of the windshield and down the left side of the drivers side to the 12 volt socket. The other review photo may be hard wired instead. Either way I like those options for me. And I choose the upper running light over the RV's rear door entrance for the camera. It'll be hard wired into the existing light wires and that means when I turn it on from the cab it'll be on all the time and not just when I'm in reverse. I do prefer to see what's behind me all the time or have the option to do so. I'm very pleased with camera overall. I look forward to the spare camera to store in the RV in case there ever is a camera itself failure while on the road. So that's my thinking on choosing that accessory over the other options. And shows how much this company is trying to please it's customers too. They will probably get a 5 star review once it's installed and I've had a few trips to see how well in deed it preforms. For now I'm so relieved to have found the right compatible camera for me. And though all the options of how to mount it might be a bit much for some I'm very pleased I have such options. Not all RV's or trucks or vehicles are the same and not all people have the same idea what works well for them. I appreciate every choice they provide and the back up service and devices they provide too. I start reupholstering the cushions and sofa tomorrow. It's one thing I can get a jump start on while waiting for Ma Nature's spring warm up to move in. Looking forward to the journey with my first ever RV after over 50 years of tent camping only. (After several bad years of wild fires camping and knowing it takes an hour to even 2-3 to break down my tents and canopies etc. and having to clean off fallen ash on everything to insure my equipment doesn't get damaged and having to clean it all better once I get home too. A ranger one of these times stopped by to tell me I could stay the night and he was. And I said now that would be plain foolish on my part if you were to come through at 2 in the morning and give me 5-10 minutes to get out. That's when I decided I need to rethink the tent camping and consider alternative options. I originally favored the idea of a small camper but over a few years realized that a small B or B+ older model made more sense. Hubby can borrow it for his Ham Radio events, relatives that travel in a tight 4-6 person group the Van can seat all of them as passengers with seat belts and scenic mobile for all of us. Plus have it's own private bathroom and a fridge on board too. Now that's luxury. It's not a top of the line fancy RV by todays standards. It also does not cost the 80 to 170K bucks either. Getting it to be safe, clean and comfortable are my goals. It too has options. Two twin or one huge bed. Twins for when a friend travels with me and a large bed for couples who prefer to cuddle up. The 2 priorities rear camera and later getting the coach windows resealed and new gaskets when it's warmer along with the other littler touches it should be ready to rock and roll down the road. (It came with new tires, new windshield wipers, microwave, kitchen faucet, TV, floor and house batteries. So the owner we bought it from was trying to bring her back to life too. I am a firm believer in if you take care of your things and with vehicles they pay you back by serving you well too. Let this new chapter and journey begin. Even though I lack an installed camera yet I can recommend you check them out on Amazon. This is the R9.

The video does not show a complete installation. It stops when it gets to the point of the back up camera.

When I received this model from Amazon and performed the test as indicated in the instructions and the video, the screen shows pictures that contain only red colors, not natural colors. The "hue" adjustment had no effect. Tech support could do nothing for me on this issue. More Chinese junk, I'm afraid - I'm not sure why they can't test the camera and screen before it leaves the factory. Back it goes.
