I think that people making THK and the knight having a good relationship in the past add to the game's beauty and it's bittersweet side as well, because in 3 of the 5 endings the knight has to slay the sibling they had such a deep connection before everything happened
You mean 2 of the endings. They only gave the Hollow Knight the ability to fight back against the radiance with Ghost, if you are talking about the Dream No More Ending.
I just love how you portray so much depth and how the vessels look so touchable. The way you drew the lighting and shadows looks amazing and the void really stands out. I just love your art. :)
Not gonna lie, I thought the end would be like "two birds on a wire. One tries to fly away, and the other dies" I legitimately thought that's how it would go
okay but seriously this was beautiful both in concept and the actual artwork. The small touches of movement are beautifully timed, the choice of black and white lines on a grey background worked brilliantly, the vessels looked really close to how they appear in canon (and gained more cuteness without taking away from the style they were created in, if that makes sense) and the feeling of despair that gradually overcomes you as you watch one of the two be slowly taken over by their desire to reach the light is paced perfectly. I both loved it and wanted to deconstruct it and create a happy ending because neither the Hollow Knight nor the Little Ghost deserve the pain and I just- emotions??

Now I’m here just ugly crying on my couch because of a 2 minute Hollow Knight animation I saw. Not only did it rip my heart out of my chest, but it shredded it into millions of little pieces. Knowing the lore makes it even more painful.

This is amazing, I love it, but technically the Hollow Knight’s shell doesn’t crack until they’re sealed up. Although it does help distinguish their faces so I can see why you’d keep it, just a small nitpick,, keep it up!
I know I’m two years late but since vessels can heal with soul it could have happened before and THK healed it, then it happened again in the black egg but they didn’t have enough soul to heal it. (They would get soul from their siblings dying all around them the first time). Just saying this as a justification for this video to be more plausible.
I like how you incorporated Hollow inheriting the Pale King’s foresight into seeing its future as the Hollow Knight and how easily captivated it was to the Pale King’s call because of this.

this was quite gorgeous, really well done despite it only being sketches. You did a phenomenal job putting emotion and expression on two characters that usually have none of those traits, and created an interesting dynamic for what happened before the pale king came. Although it was a bit hard to tell which was which sometimes, I think that you did an amazing job with this. Not to mention that you made it fit very very well with the song (which is one of my favorites for fan animations anyway).

i dont know which hurts more: this is a flashback sequence for ghost as they approach the temple, or ghost inherited PK's gift of foresight and (unknowingly using it) tries to prevent what happened anyway (hiding them both from the light, but they fail and fall)
Also, while this might be straight-up wrong, it looks like all of these events + the abyss scene are symbolic, and not literal, which I deeply appreciate
I am a LOVER of symbolism, and it always gets me in animatics. I'm glad I was able to achieve that here!! i defintiely didn't intend this to be fully literal - I've just always thought the abyss scene represented how Ghost's literal defining memory of Hallownest is being abandoned and cast away, no matter how hard they worked, and I wanted to explore that more here!!

Absolutely phenomenal work. I don't know if I just couldn't see it but I lost the crack in the helm after a bit in the video and I struggled to tell them apart at times. However even with that the story and the feelings expressed through the music and art was astounding
