Vegas having MLB on The Strip being profitable is not predicated on local fans but some tourist from, say, Iowa squeezing in a game between blackjack and the buffet and/or headline show at MGM Grand. What a way to build fan loyalty!

Best of all possible outcomes (but probably never happen in this crazy world), Vegas deal falls through, Fisher sells the team, while the A;s continue to play in Sacramento, new owners tear down the Oakland Coliseum and build a new stadium on the same site - the infrastructure and zoning is already there so it was cost much less and be less disruptive than the Howard terminal project or a new stadium elsewhere.
