Welcome to my channel How to Knot and in this video, I will be showing you how to tie a sheet bend. This particular knot is used for connecting two ropes and can be used in applications such as sailing, camping, or even just general purposes. This knot can be used to join two ropes of different diameters unlike other types of knots, but it’s not secure as other knots. Therefore it should not be used in high stress situations. If ropes of unequal sizes are used, the larger diameter rope is to be used for the bight.
Start by creating a bight in the one rope.
Take the working end of the opposite rope and feed that through the bight.
Loop under and then back.
Feed the working end under the section through the bight.
Tighten and dress accordingly.

This is genarally used for ropes of different thickness, but it's good either way.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video! How is a sheet bend knot different from a square knot?
Pause at 0:32 and instead of the tail end going back up towards the top of the screen, it would just come back out next to the working end, toward the right of the screen. A square not can pull out under heavy load, a sheet bend won't
