- Finally there is someone out there (me) to display the coronation with the British National Anthem without the commentary, This video is about Her Majesty The Queen and her Coronation, This has set to be the very first official version of "God Save The Queen" as The Queen leaves her throne and exits the sanctuary of Westminster Abbey. This video was taken place Westminster Abbey, London, England, United Kingdom at 6 of June, 1953. To officially initiate the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II & His Royal Highness Prince Philip.
- Hry
I bet it was awkward for them to be singing God Save the Queen just as much as it is awkward and new for us to say God Save the King now.
Remember, some had been alive during the Victorian era. It was only about 50 odd years ago so if you were about 65 or above you probably sung God Save the Queen. Like Churchill did
52 years of Kings that was. Must've been a bit less awkward than our 70. God save the king
@@sloththejolteon6472 Still akward for most. At the time of Queen Elizabeth IIs coronation , you would have to be at least 60 to remember the reign of Queen Victoria.

What I find particularly touching is as Her Majesty reaches the Royal Box, she allows herself a very brief glance at her mother. Can't imagine the emotions both Queens Elizabeth were feeling at that moment. No doubt the late King was in their hearts and minds.
Rare but the Queen Mother curtsied
What an incredible reign - a whole era is named after her. Everybody who put trust in her was right: 70 years ago as well as in 2022. She has done her duty until the very end - Rest in Peace, Your Majesty!
Woody.EXE’s reign will be much longer and I’m so honoured to live through his reign. I’m literally becoming his Queen in 7 months on my 21st birthday, I will be crowning Woody.EXE and then I’ll be crowned by my mother
true
One of the rules agreed to by the BBC was that there would be no close ups of the Queen. But as the music played and she moved forward into the cameraman, he didn't pull back. There was another official in the broadcast booth with a cutoff switch but he didn't react either.
Both were just so overcome with the moment, and how incredible she looked, they couldn't bear to act
Some moments are so sacred they shouldn’t be displayed. I’m grateful to be able to watch this footage but wish it remained within closed door.
@Jb Demarest The most sacred part of the ceremony, the anointing, was hidden from the cameras.
Just like mine and Woody.EXE’s coronation, Mummy won’t be filming us 2 during God save the Queen because I’ll be grieving Elizabeth so I’m likely not to be filmed most of the time
There will never be another Queen as great as she has been the last 70 years, but she will remain in our hearts for eternity. May she Rest in Peace with her Strength and Stay of 73 glorious years. God Save the Queen!!!
She always will be our queen with no matter what. Even we have a king right now!

@@westlock It says long live the king.
No, the Coronation took place in June 1953, by which time the Queen had been on the throne for 16 months. "God save the Queen" would have been sung many times in the intervening period, not least outside St James's Palace on the day following her father's death at the accession proclamation and probably in many churches up and down the country at memorial services for the King, probably at his funeral service in St George's Chapel, Windsor, at the BBC Proms first and last nights (26 Aug and 20 Sep 1952) and the Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall (8 Nov 1952), the commemoration at the Cenotaph the following day and before many orchestral concerts, opera and variety performances (it was common for the anthem to be played on those occasions in those days).

Her coronation was regal
I was 2 years old and my parents bought the first TV in our area to watch the Coronation. My mom was a strong Monarchist
Based, monarchy is the best form of government, despite it's constant villainization by young ideologies that can't even last 100 years, such as democracy, republicanism, communism, and others, it has lasted millennia, functions fine even in the modern world (the few true monarchies that remain are the most stable countries in their regions), and people must be _taught_ from a young age to think other systems are better. People naturally want a strong leader to follow, and a monarch taught from birth how to rule is a better ruler than a dictator who seizes power.
My first Nanny remembers watching this and she was 3 at the time. She just turned 71 a week ago
I am from 2023 declaring that She out-coronationed her son

Who thinks Her Majesty should be called Elizabeth the Great?
Yes. I think !
@Dan Wruck second thing, The Queen Mum Bitch once said that she didnt like the thought of her daughter becoming QUEEN! She confirmed it (although, as time goes by, she finally accepts it) that is why when her daughter waa queen, she is required to leave the buckingham palce because she in now a dowager queen, but, she firmly said NO! Mind you that when you are A Dowager Queen, you must step from royal duties and let the new monarch and consort take over, well she didnt! She continued her luxurious bitch life style and refused to take the "DOWAGER TITLE" and referred to herself as "THE QUEEN MOTHER".
One one monarch in the whole of British history has been called "GREAT" and that was King Alfred!
