Good thing to consider with the oral glucose, is the amount of sugar in a tube, 20 or 25g or what have you, the amount of glucose, depending on the insulin dosage the diabetic individual had sort of preloaded that’s bringing them into hypoglycemia...that amount can keep draining their glucose in the form of what’s going in with the oral glucose, and they can get going further and further into dangerous levels of hypoglycemia. So I’d always sorta advise to be very aggressive with it, more so than think a dose with get anyone out of hypoglycemia easily enough. Speaking as a type 1 who needs to recert the nremt tomorrow...but, there’s not a lot of emphasis given on just how dramatic that insulin loading can be with hypoglycemia as far as books are concerned, or classes will state. Just a dude throwing some info out for people to consider when dealing with hypoglycemia, no harm in being aggressive with dosages or being very sort of aware of how fast that blood sugar can drop, and how this takes precedent over anything sort of unrelated like oxygen administration.

Hi I just wanted to let you know my son wasn't able to hear the videos because of connections in the dorm room but I listened to them I told him some of your strategies with listening to main key words. So now while the teacher is running on about something that doesn't mean anything he will go back and check his index cards for notes. He did go from a 68 to a 82 with mod 4 his mod 5 test is Monday so my fingers are crossed for him. Thanks again for some pointers
