- It was a tough road early on for the Tennessee Volunteers in the 2019 season. After two embarrassing losses to Georgia State and BYU to open the season, many wrote off the Volunteer team. But like so many great sports movies before, Tennessee fought and clawed their way back and clinched bowl eligibility in dramatic fashion against Missouri. What better way to replay this story than putting it under the lens of a boxing movie.

As someone who was a student during Fulmer, Kiffin, and the 3 Dooley years (took a victory lap in the 2012 fall semester) the best quote is definitely “I survived the Dooley years, this can’t break me.”

For me, a Tennessee fan who's too young to remember a vols national championship, bowl eligibility feels like the best this team's been in a while. The other night after Tennessee beat Kentucky I was yelling ,"We're relevant again!"

After losing to Jawja State, any UT fan would have taken the MCB at that point. Getting the Gator Bowl is way more than anyone could have hoped for.

I chuckled a lot at this, big Vols fan here. My takeaway was the line “If being a Tennessee fan were easy, everyone would be” for the past decade that statement has never been truer.
Only quibble is that we are projected to go to the Taxslayer Bowl or even the Outback bowl over the Music City bowl. But I know SEC shorts can’t help but be a little biased.

Tennessee really did dig deep and turn around their season. It looked like pure disaster at a point. I'm impressed and I never thought I'd say this, I'm happy for them because I like Pruitt. Great video guys.

He means the recruiting violation mess that Kiffin hit us with in his one and only season as head coach before he bailed and left it in our lap because he knew the investigation was coming and the Trojans offered him a gig as head coach. (Which worked out great for them apparently because they never went to a bowl under him I do believe)That's why Kiffin is trash and always will be trash. And trust me we did suffer because of his actions. It limited our scholarships for years and years and our bowl eligibility for a couple of years. He screwed us royally.
