Behringer introduced the entry-level GM108 in the early 2000s and quickly began distributing it with a guitar as a starter pack. Musician's Friend was the first online vendor to offer the $99 V-Tone Guitar Pack during the 2003 Christmas season. This first incarnation had a standard Strat-shaped body, GM108 amp, gigbag, strap, cable, picks and chord chart. For the 2005 Christmas season the $99 special debuted on Amazon with the redesigned body featured in our episode. For the 2006 season, the V-Tone pack price was increased to $149 and a package (AC108GPKST3BK Vintager Guitar Pack) including a two-knob guitar model with a basic, non-modeling amplifier was released at $99. The online reviews (particularly about the amp) are very negative. Also introduced on Amazon in 2006 was the $199 deluxe "El Toro" package which featured a similar guitar with a rosewood fretboard and HSS pickup layout, the GM108 amp, and a metal effects pedal with tuner. In 2007, the iAXE393 USB guitar was introduced. The only accessories it came with were a modeling amp software bundle. All products were discontinued in the early 2010s.
