Everyone always recommends 311's top hits, which are fine, but I'd recommend the following lesser known songs.
Friday Afternoon (from the album Stereolithic - 2014)
Wake Your Mind Up (from the album From Chaos - 2001)
Rolling Through (from the album Voyager - 2019)
Hive (from the self titled Blue album - 1995)
    8:16 A.M. (from the album Grassroots - 1994)
Made in the Shade (from the album Stereolithic - 2014)
    🤘✌🥰

311 has so many songs that will mess you up as far as that exciting vs calm, happy vs angry, heavy vs soft. It's often because of that reggae guitar hook or drum roll or bass line then being mixed with metal, punk, and rap elements by the other instruments. That fusion is my favorite part of them. I don't think there is another mainstream band that compares in the fusion capabilities. Even for people that don't like them, they are a treasure chest for musical ideas since they are strong musicians and pull genres together so easily.

They mix heavy and beautiful to perfection.

Chad Sexton's (drummer) snare sound is a pretty unique thing. He even made a short video of it once because he got so many people asking him how he makes it sound the way it does. It's all in the way you play it.
Keep up the good feelings. 311 all day.

Exactly! People kept saying he always cranked his snare for that signature sound of his. He said he doesn't crank it, it's all how you play it.

Love to see the 311 reactions on y'all's channel. 311 was the first band I ever got HEAVILY into beyond just listening to singles on the radio when I was in high school. They aren't my favorite band anymore but they're in my top 5 easy and I'll always love them for being the band that really got me into music in a more than casual way. I've also seen them live about 8 times and they absolutely KILL IT on stage, they've always said that performing live is their favorite part of their job and you can tell when you see them that they truly love performing for their fans.

again....long live 311 and long live the 90s ! P-Nut is a bad @$$ bassist ! and when i was younger in my first "garage" band i was the drummer in that band and i made thinner drum sticks to always get that thin snare sound ! it was so much fun !

It's mostly the guitar's picking that gives it the genre sounds on this one....

I love that song so much! Same with Tribute and Let the Cards Fall. I love all of 311's stuff but those 2 songs go very well on a playlist with Stealing Happy Hours.

311 is one of those bands where we might not tolerate a song and the next time absolutely love it. I think the spacier material actually endures most.
