Galway are a big 3 type county with minnow level success rate, they’ve lost 5 all Irelands for every 1 they’ve won. Even since 88 it’s played 8 and won 1. Biggest enigma in hurling, not easy change either, had a few lads come in and think they’d change it, Loughnane, Shefflin and never ends well. It’s not to similar to the England soccer job, talent is always there as is the expectation but without much to show for it. If you add up every all Ireland from minor, u21, club and senior Galway have the second most all Irelands over the last 35 years, just behind Kilkenny but difference is they’ve 13 senior all Ireland to Galway’s 1 in that timeframe (KK have their own problems too atm but just to show the difference 1st and 2nd place)

Would there any ways Ollie canning would do it? He could be a great figurehead & a real inspiration to younger players

Galway peoples expectations are way too high. Clare and galway both have 5 all irelands. Clare have won 4 since 1988, Galway only have the one in 2017. Inconsistency will always be Galways problem. We can go out and produce brilliant performances. The semi finals against kilkenny in 2001 and 2005 prime examples but then we just can't produce the goods when it matters most. It's important to give the new manager a couple of years no matter how bad results will be in 2025. Noel Lane was sacked in 2002 which was very harsh and those players like ollie canning said if he was left in charge they would have won an all ireland. Patience and realistic expectation is what galway need

the drinking bans in hurling is a joke. professional soccer teams and rugby teams allow players to have a few drinks if they like during the season. madness really and truely, needs to be looked at

I Think Davey Fitzgerald would be the ideal man for Galway.

Why would anyone think Davey is a suitable manager for any county. His childish behaviour on the sideline is distracting and I as a Galway fan would not want him anywhere near our senior hurling panel.
