Nice one Will, Sonny's a legend!
This is terrific! I have been listening to S.T. for the last 40 years, to see what he was doing in such detail is fascinating. I heard him play live a dozen times, his riffs are burned into my brain. Thanks for posting!
Wow Will...This series is becoming fantabulous....Best harp vids on youtube in my books...thx for the breakdowns
+harpdaddyone No problem. Thank you
This is the best licks lesson I've seen, by far. Can't wait to see more!
Thank You a million times Will Wilde you have taught me so much I appreciate this so much especially you taking your time out to make all these videos. You are the most badass harp player on CZcams n Teacher on here. Thanks again man ✌️👍👍👍 Keep on Rocking #HarmonicaForLife
Dude, this series are just amazing and one of the most useful things I've found on CZcams. Could you do a third one soon please? Maybe a Little Walter/Big Walter if you wanna go classic, or a Musselwhite one if you want some more modern stuff (His style is very recognisable too)
Thank you !!
Excellent tutorial, many thanks. I’ve. heard but could never get the chugging lick right until now. Cheers
excellent lesson thx
Excellent video, great job and much appreciated
Thank you again and again. You’ve taught me so much. I’m really picking up the slower riffs so much better now. Wish I could do the same with the faster stuff. Oh well,I’ll keep trying. You’re the best.
Wow, this is really helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome lesson, good ear to be able to break this down,Kudos.
Thank you a lot, because of you i found out that he plays a A Harp in 4. Position in the Song "rock island line" Thank you greetings from Germany
good clear breakdown....cheers
Wow. Great number 1 .., can’t wait to ‘take the time
Nice lesson, thank you Will
I'd suggest for your next video you cover all the licks for Sonny Terry - Whoopin' the Blues, very interesting one, no one made a real tutorial for that, you'd be first on a great tune 💪 the intro you covered here (lick 2) is really good and very instructive for coordination, where most people struggle a lot when trying to learn it by themselves, that's a good one practice!
gave my lungs and lips a fair work out really liked this lesson ,pick up an old harp so not to break my 4 hole on my new special 20tys Thanks for every little riff Mr Wilde
Thank you so much for these tips!
Thanks. Love Sonny and Brownie 🎵❤️
SOIS UNOS FENOMENOS, EXTRAORDINARIA LECCION. MUCHAS GRACIAS
Thanks Will! I love the way you explain while playing. Excellent way to teach and that makes it really easy to learn. Keep on rocking bro!
Terry was the man. This teacher rocks. I remember back in the 70's when i first heard Sonny Terry.
great job, Will...Tks
Thanks for a great lesson!
Outstanding - damnit Will, wish I'd had a music teacher like you at school, would'vde been rocking a lot sooner!
Very nice!!
Will, very good tutorial . . . . .I appreciate it! . . . . I'm a big fan of Sonny terry & Brownie McGee.

Thank you !
Excellent Tutorial style Will, much appreciation from Jesse "hambone" Holliday, blowin Blues-Harp in Orlando, Florida.
been home a week now from Edinburg, you are the greatest, your #1 Canadian fan
Thanks Jim, it was great to meet you!
THANKS WILL
Will Wilde, From my perspective, your "Signature Licks" are lessons that I keep coming back to and can never get enough of. They help me as not only a breathing exercise, but as a timing skill development and confidence builder. Hope you do some more in 2020. It would be awesome, and very much appreciated to see a John Lee " Sonny Boy 1 " Williamson Signature Licks tutorial. If your looking for ideas. Thanks for the time and effort you put into these tutorials.
Thanks Al, I've been considering continuing this series, I will probably do some more this year. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@willharmonicawilde Thanks for the reply Will. Cheers.
Thnx man
Thanks a tons !
top stuff mate
Brilliant breakdown Will. Thanks so much for sharing this stuff.
Will do you know I can find the tabs for Crow Jane?
Very helpful stuff, Will!
The first two licks I didn’t know
I'm looking forward to signing up for your course. Just gotta pay off a small debt first.
Emerging genius
You are an inspiration to me. I grew up in Lancashire and then moved to London. I detect you are a Londoner too. I emigrated to California 35 years ago and now retired, I have more time to do all the things I wanted to when I was too busy climbing up the Corporate Ladder. I love the way you play and although I am past the basics, I am somewhat stuck. Any suggestions? Cheers!
You have a great ear and impressive breath control! Cheers!
Thank you! 😊
Hi Will !
Two questions on the first chugging rythm :
- my lungs get filled with air too quickly, how to you manage to blow the same amount of air that you draw ?
- On the draw chords, do you use your tongue and say "Ta Ta Ta" or do you just use a cough ?
Vielen Dank aus Deutschland
Super Video
Thanks!

Hello Wili Wilde,
Sorry I'm writing with google translator
Can you make a video how to
Sonny Terry Boogie Baby Playing?
I know this video series but it doesn't match the song.
Sonny Terry Rock 'n' Boogie - 1st part - 1st chorus I Chord - Blues Harp - Intermediate level
What do you think about ?
Greetings from Germany
May the road rise up to meet you, and may the wind always be at your back.
Great lesson Will. Just wondering how you are articulating the first riff? Are you saying ka ka, or tonguing it with ta ta?
hey will can yoiu do any slim harpo are billy boy
Thanks!!
Your one cool cat x
brilliant and very helpfull will just found you on you tube and had to subscribe straight away you are awesome do you know any licks for sonnys callin your mama as i cant find any plz help thanks again for exellent help on videos
What brand of harp do you play? I play a Lee Oskar diatonic and I swear it's tuned differently. I can't play the 3rd lick onwards.
Hi Will, I'm finding it a bit more difficult to control breathing on this one, are you spilling air over the blow note or out of the side of your mouth? Also, have you any vids. on playing country blues? Great stuff by the way. Cheers
Help la armonica es Sb? Si bemol?
🙂👌💥💥💥💫🙏
Will, your playing is so hot your camera lens is all fogged up!

The simple country blues lick sounded so familiar to me.
I realized I heard it in a Medicine Head song. Me and Susie Hit the Floor.

1:40 draw 2 on beat 1&3 and blow 2 on beat 2 and 4 no?
Yes that's right
@@willharmonicawilde Great, I was getting confused haha, perfect 👌
Like always, the video is so useful! Especially when you break down the rhythm, makes it so much easier to learn it!
