As it should be, phonk was underrated too and look at the state of it... drift and cowbells everywhere, the popularity ruined the genre. I refuse to listen to it anymore, I rather stay in the underground than on the surface. F**k TikTok.

Hey can someone explain me what is the difference betwen Dunegon rap and Memphis rap ?
Memphis rap is the old school rap from Memphis.
Dungeon Rap got "created" by DJ Sacred with his tape "Dungeon Rap: The Introduction".
The short form is basically: Memphis Rap + Dungeon Synth
The long form: Dungeon Rap can have memphis rap samples in it, but that is not always the case. Some producers release tapes with side A and B. One side with memphis rap samples (vocals) and the other without. Also it does not have to be memphis rap, it can have other rap samples too.
And it's not always dungeon synth samples that are getting used. Some producers make their own samples or use samples from games and other genres.
I would say that Dungeon Rap either has a mystik, medieval or spooky sound and can have rap samples in it.

Only thing that this two genres share is mumble and inaudible vocals, those are mostly added to music sound more atmospheric and... rhythmical?
And they're very lo-fi overall.
Difference is that Memphis sounds more scary gangsta /night in the outskirts of the city/street vibe
And Dungeon is more about dark medieval/eternity/alchemic/magick and rituals vibe
