- On this day, I went to Joe Pool Lake to try to catch a big crappie for the crappie tournament at Lynn Creek Marina. I wound up catching the biggest crappie of the tournament so far. Check out the video...hope you enjoy!

Love your enthusiasm... we can tell your having lots of fun! I fished a lake in Canada at Frontenac Provincial Park 20 years in a row. Between boat trips for largemouth bass, I would take a trout rod and go snorkeling in 12-15 feet of water and pull up crappies right out of their holes... I hooked a 2 1/2 foot pike one time and had a hell of a time getting it off my line. I had to swim back to shore with it!
Does my heart good to see those slabs getting yanked out. Love those Moonshine Jigs. Wife and I just got our license and I'm getting the boat ready. Hopefully we'll be back out in a few days after a year and half hiatus. Thanks for putting out your vids and helping us keep our sanity during our healing process.
I've been fishing a long time but I've never seen anyone score the nice pile of Crappie as you have. I've learned a few things too. The Bass was a nice finish. I thank you and I plan on buying a kit for myself and my fishing partners. I thank you!

I fish alot on Summerville Lake out n Summerville Tx. I'ma bout 15mins from there. I say tht to say this.. watching ur video makes me want to go try n catch some crappie. Brother you had a fantastic catchn trip..... Those are the ones we go for..... Pool is a great crappie lake and got the slabs as you just showed..... Excellent edit and you always bring great fun..... You're gonna be doing a lot of that blackened fish once you try it.....I never thought I'd leave fried well I haven't left it but for sure cook more blackened than fried now..... It's crazy hope those big ole bass hit lil bitty crappie jigs......

Love it. Here in kansas my count this year so far is 212 craps. That's 2 weeks of fishing jigging the trees. By the end of year I'll have a rack. I also do all this naturally. No finder or equipment besides artificial bates. All I got is multiple generations of knowledge. I know crappie like u know ur kids
They turn up where you'd least expect them and they're _never_ around where I would have predicted they'd be.
One morning, many years ago, my buddies and I had camped out along our local creek to get a crack at the fish before sun up. We unexpectedly caught some holdover stocked rainbow and brown trout plus crappies on those old propeller-head Rooster Tail spinners. This has to be over forty-five years ago now. Happy fishing!

Nice. I went with my fishing buddy to Douglas here in TN last Saturday. We brought home 12 keepers and threw back plenty. Nothing great, but a decent day. Several of his keepers were absolute hogs. He long-lined all day with a double rig with 1/16 jigs with Charlie Brewer Sliders. I long-lined two rods double rigged and two rods double rigged with a swivel and a one ounce egg sinker above the swivel. I was rigged with Crappie Magnets on all of my jigs. Every fish I caught came on Pink/Chart. and Purple/ Speckled Blue. I think most of his came on Pink/Chart. Sliders. Most of my fish early on came on the spider-rig with sinkers. Later in the day, all of my hook ups came on the long-lines. Can't wait to go back.
You talk about some entertainment this was very very entertaining now I woulda kept the Bass I would if I knew how to fish.
I would be out there with you right now,..... one of these days when I get this pontoon fully restored I'm a call on Deep crappie and say I don't know how to fish I need some help come and give a brother some assistance from DeSoto Texas when I get my boat up and running and ahead of Joe pool Lake.

Caught my first Trophy Bass at Joe Pool..... 1990 Something, First day the Lake Opened, i hang 11 lb 4 oz, just crazy, out of a 12 foot John Boat, with a Troller Motor, i won't cry about the out come!!!
