I’ve lived in the Tokyo area for 8 years. I know what you mean.
I lived in Kobe for 3 years as a kid when my dad's company transferred him there temporarily. If Tokyo is Japan's New York, and Osaka Los Angeles, Kobe's probably the San Diego a short distance away from the latter. Much smaller city but very international. Visited Tokyo a few times... and many other parts of Japan. Really enjoyed all of it, soaking it in as much as I could those 3 short but formative years.

I found this band when I was trying to look for an M83 song and they are now my Favorite Band. Their music is a perfect mix of nostalgia and soothing vocals. I have to listen to Fly for your Life, Tech Noir, and Pink Mist at least once before a day. I'm excited for their new album.

So, just listening to the music itself, not paying all that much attention to the spoken bits. Then I hear "It's just a bad day, not a bad life" and then I can't stop crying and I hear all the words that are being said and yeah...this is going to be a necessary song to listen to sometimes. I wanted my voice to appear there but I’m still happy this was made. It’s one of the most nostalgic, emotive and meaningful songs you’ve ever made. And to let gunship fans participate in it makes this even more outstanding.
