Daily practice should be a matter of course if you want to stabilize and expand your skills on wind instruments. Creativity and the search for new inputs are always required - why not use exercise tools? The fact is that the instrument forgives so many mistakes - over- or under-tension of the musculature does not immediately lead to missing notes. But it is on the mouthpiece: the lack of a standing well or the resistance of the instrument reveals many errors on the mouthpiece that the instrument may be concealing. That is why practicing on the mouthpiece should be an integral part of the daily program. For more than 30 years, the Warburton company has guaranteed high-quality mouthpiece construction for both brass and woodwind instruments and has come up with various accessories for practicing with and without a mouthpiece. All of these accessories deal with the approach, the mouthpiece pressure and the control of the lip vibration. During their development, great importance was attached to ease of use, functionality and the best possible efficiency when practicing. Experienced brass players were involved in the development of these tools and many well-known musicians work with these little helpers every day.
The P.E.T.E. was developed by the US lead trumpeter Ken Titmus, who has been working with the Warburton company for many years. The abbreviation P.E.T.E. stands for Personal Embouchure Training Exerciser and the name says it all: The P.E.T.E. is an approach trainer that is suitable for both brass and woodwinds. The ergonomically shaped pen, with a disc about 5 cents in size attached to one end, strengthens the attachment muscles when used correctly and in combination with practicing on the instrument. The manufacturer recommends using the P.E.T.E. not to be used directly before exercising, as it first tires the muscles and then needs 1-2 hours to regenerate.

Nein, Trompete wenn möglich jeden Tag. Nur der P.E.T.E. kommt jeden zweiten Tag dazu. Ja, das kann man missverstehen. 🤔
