This album was under the Christmas tree for me in 1962, and the following year I got "Bonanza : 'Christmas on the Ponderosa' !" after it was released. I STILL have BOTH albums, and the more 'updated' CD versions of them, too. Such great memories, in both albums ! :)
I didn’t know about the Christmas Album but I was given this or bought it with my pocket money about that time, here in the UK. I no longer have it but, thanks to our host here I’m listening to it again for the first time in several decades! Talk about ‘walking down memory lane!’. I was about 13 then - I’m heading to 75 and the memories come tumbling back. I think my favourite was always ‘My Sons’. A beautiful album. Thank you 🙏

This cast is great and Pernell Roberts who was Adam loved the cast and didn't want to leave them. He wanted producers to change script and make em more grown up getting married. Also work part time by doing theater

Besides...Pernell made the right choice for himself - he was able to do many parts throughout his life - his whole life - on stage and on tv - most actors never get that. He made the right choice for himself. And Bonanza went on and on and on...Lorne Greene said later that they should have stopped after 5 years.
The thing that I love about this is the most is that you can tell that they were having a blast!! I've seen a few pictures of the behind the scenes that someone had snapped while they were recording it and in nearly every picture they were either laughing or had huge smiles on their faces. Also Michael Landon's voice is so...dreamy
Listening too this Album, I can't Recall or Remember if My Sister's & I, or even My Father had this Record in Our Collection's. IF we did it would of been when I was very Young, around Four - Seven years old 🤔🧐. IT was in those Year's, Our Dad would Play the Stereo quite Often. Whether it was in the Evening, or I Recall most Often Sunday Mornings 🌅🌄 I'd wake up too it playing Jim Reeves, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Patti Page, Eddy Arnold, Early Johnny Cash, and The Carter Sister's. But even After trying too remember hard? The Previous Song's & Stories by Lorne Greene, & the Cast. Don't come Back to Me Distinctly at Present. That's regretful as Thier Voices are so Memorable, even though they are All gone now, for many years. Mr Greene's Song of Ringo, is One I'll never Forget, of Hearing on the Old 8 Track player, along with Big John, Cattle Call, Four Walls, Green Green Grass of Home, & OMG 😱🤔 so many Other's. Especially in the Summer on the Lakeshore. At the Bon Fires 🔥🔥 we'd Have, and the Guitar n Sing A long's put on there. What Great Memories I still have of those days. Getting back too the Bonanza/Ponderosa LPs? IT's really a twister 🌀🌀 that I'm not Recalling it Clearly with the reminders. Gosh Darn it, that Sucks, but Oh well it will eventually come Back. Bonanza was my favourite western of all time.
We loved the Cartwrights. There was never a finer father figure than Lorne Greene.

In an interview on youtube, the producer said that Pernell quit Bonanza because he wanted to be a movie star.

Robert Pernell was difficult to work with. He quit the show and was replaced by Guy Williams but came back out of jealousy because Guy was so popular.
I was 5 when one of my brothers got this. Damn. Time goes on.
