- To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Banjo-Kazooie I will do the only thing I am good at in video games. There are a few more ways to die that I could record but I'm too lazy to.(choosing the wrong whistle, zubbas, mutie snippets, a lockup's teeth, and gold flibbits are some examples.)

Fun fact: That drowning animation as banjo trying to swimming up is actually his last breath flailing to get air. Even if his air meter is 0, he'll try to swim up a bit for like 1-2 seconds. If he reaches to the surface, he gains back all 6 of his air meter even at 0.

@@FlipRB its very realistic. This little gem is one of my favorites in video game history cause it makes sense whether just drowning as you reach the surface like they did with Mario 64.

It's interesting how if Banjo runs out of health while in the water, he acts like he's drowning. And if he runs out of health on land, but falls into the water during the death cutscene, he then acts like he's drowning. Wouldn't his lifeless body just stay lifeless as it falls into the water and not act like it's drowning?

Well from what I've seen in most cases Banjo losing all his health is probably less a death and more of a KO since bosses remember when you lose most times and in Tooie some of the animations even portray him as sitting up and crying instead of being laid out
There were most cases in reality actually that if you fall in the water instantly without talking a deep breath, that is very troublesome, making you drown WAY FASTER

That stupid Engine Room gave me my first genuine Game Over.
My favorite death is the double-death. In Rusty Bucket Bay, death #46 but with a twist: just when your last honeycomb of AIR is about to run out. You get sliced by the propellers AND drown (air runs out during death animation). My second favorite is falling from the tree's highest point in Click Clock Wood at full health and still dying.
