Thats not true. Browns are highly praised upon in the hobby especially if you break them in or diamond polish them. The problem is that its a tofu. Theres so many better budget keyboards out there.

I’m usually more of a tactile guy myself, but I can say that Akko crystal clears are the best linears I’ve ever tried.

Cherry MX browns probably aren't bad but I wouldn't get them because they are just kind of a basic switch a lot of cheap not custom keyboards use them
Other enthusiasts use them on their high end boards. But broken in and sometimes spring swapped
