@@MacTwerkin heh its just a little backround work in a show and a movie but 1: it pays VERY well, and 2: it was pretty funny seeing me on the TV even if it wasn't anything special at all

Man I watched 1917 for my history class last year and i absolutely LOVED IT, shout out to one of my classmates who cried in the scene with Scofield and the woman cause she thought they were in love😂
1917 was filmed in one shot style, and that whole running scene was already five minutes in. He broke character once, the movie was pretty much screwed if Universal didn’t want to give them more.
Imagine randomly encountering Will Ferrell in an elf costume on the street, like a scene from a movie. The realism of the war running scene in 1917 adds to the intensity of the film.
Another thing about Elf: The Lego scene had to be filmed only once because of the damage. Seems kinda obvious since it would take a while to rebuild the scene, but yeah
Imo a lot of bloopers that aren’t just laughing and failed scenes actually make it better. Like the first clip felt more real with the collision because all the chaos going on
Also the scene in "Rocky" where Rocky runs through the streets of Philadelphia and interacts with people was shot with no background actors. His interactions with the people was genuine and not scripted.
CONTEXT: Pretty Woman: at the time Julia Roberts was tired from partying the night before, so the director had the butler so thatvto wake her up (Source: I think Allen Tsai) Elf: the budget for the movie was really small so they couldn't have some streets closed off or anything like that, so they just took a film crew and headed into NYC (Source: the movies that made us/the guy who created Elf)
Yeah especially since the pedestrians would have to sign off and consent to being on film. And none of them were cussing and stuff in new York lmfao. It was too calm to be natural. Also no one acknowledged the camera.
The running scene was actually appraised well by critics and movie watchers. It added surrealism to the scene instead of being perfectly choreographed they show even more chaos not being orderly running. Which does make sense in war and high stress situations people get tunnel vision and usually trip over easily avoidable things.
Im not a new yorker, nor a american, but i would love to see will ferrel mess with me and i would go "what the fuck is wrong with that person?"just to see myself in the movie

So happy that elf didn’t get shot 😭
Did they not see the cameras tho?
If he’s not part of the movie no probably notn

I didnt know that about elf. It would be so cool to just randomly bump into him on the street and then realize you are in the movie. Lol

I wish they still filmed stuff in public like that
As long as someone miserable don't randomly decide "imma shoot the scene literally" then i hope it comes back more often
The reason why they don't really shoot in public like that is because a random guy might recognize an actor and call them and ruin everything.

Definition of "I have a tight budget"
In all fairness, the whole film is pretty much one take, so not only would it be expensive, but also time consuming.
I love that the filming for Elf was just a bunch of things you’d see on Jackass
1917 was filmed in one shot style, and that whole running scene was already five minutes in. He broke character once, the movie was pretty much screwed if Universal didn’t want to give them more.
I think the bump in the first seen makes the movie more realistic and funnier since theoretically the chances of not bumping are very low.
I don't know about you but i think it'd be kinda cool to get into a movie and people like will Farrell just by walking the street.

The one-shot style of filming 1917 really added to the intensity. It's crazy to think about all the work that went into the Lego scene in Elf.
The realism of the war scene in 1917 is what makes the movie so intense. I didn't know that about Elf, it's interesting how they filmed it.
The buddy one was great😂
The one-shot style of filming in 1917 really enhanced the intensity. It's interesting how Elf was filmed with random, Jackass-style scenes.

Does that mean elf actually ate random gum…

Definitely. In part 2 when the guy tossed him an orange while running up 9th street (Italian market) I’m from Philly obviously...

I heard he snapped the necklace case because Julia tended to drink and get to set kinda messed the next day. He was told to do that to wake her up.

The war scene was staged though....they told the actors to try not to hit him but definitely get the shot if they do.
