  • The video exposes the common issue of orchid root rot and dispels myths circulating on the internet, especially on CZcams. It highlights the deceptive practices of some creators who claim miraculous solutions for reviving orchids, such as placing them upside down in water. The video debunks these methods, explaining the biological reasons why they are impossible and warns viewers to avoid falling for such deceptive content. The importance of understanding the biological needs of orchids, their unique photosynthesis process, and the role of velamen in their nutrition is emphasized. The creator urges orchid enthusiasts to rely on proven methods and avoid fake videos that exploit their lack of knowledge. #orchidscare #orchidsforbeginners #orchidrepotting #propagation #phalaenopsisorchids #orchidsneverdie #phalaenopsis #orchid #orchidslover #orchidspecies

Hi! Loved this video, thanks for debunking the hoax.
I do however want to mention that I've been growing my Phalaenopsis without any media in a glass vase for about four months now. I fill the vase with water and let the roots soak overnight with a tiny drop of fertilizer. Dump the water out and let the roots breath for 2 days. Then repeat.
I have, since using this method, seen a new leaf emerge, new roots forming both from the main "trunk" and also at the ends of the old root. It's also reblooming on 2 previous spikes. None of the older leaves are rotted or showing signs of distress...
Perhaps they can be grown without substrate... Or atleast Phals can. Thoughts?

Which method is better? To put leaves in water or to put little roots in water? (Actually some have no roots)

@@petrichor7121 yes I put it upside down in a clear plastic cup. With just about 1/4” of the leaves in the water. Then I mist the top roots. Or you can also put another cup on top to keep the humidity in.

Thanks for debunking more fake orchid videos! I was wondering if you sold your flower shop or decided to continue on? If you want to continue making videos, you could also branch out into other flowering plants, such as African violets are becoming more popular again, with people producing new cultivars with variegation and also streptocarpus. Just some ideas in case you're looking for some. Thanks again for a great video!

There are many normal, natural ways to regrow roots. Watch my rehabilitation method here:You'll Never Throw Away Dead Orchids After Watching This!

Roots will grow following the green biomass. If you are asking about stimulators for roots, there is none. Everything suggested here on CZcams is a HOAX. To understand better biology of roots system watch another video Saving Orchid, Without Roots: How It’s Done!

@@Classyflowers I also watched this, but it only critiques the other creator's contents and exposes the hoax (justifiably so.. I've lost orchids because of them!) and describes orchid roots; it didn't show how to regrow the roots. However I found something on another channel that looks like it will work so I'll try that. It has all the necessary components for healthy root regrowth (pretreatment with nutrients, light, air movement and humidity). Thanks for your replies though.. still appreciated!
