I so connected with Rich here, not from a drugs baron perspective, but Germany (BAOR) in the early 90s. Drink was “the” thing to do. Many young soldiers were functional alcoholics. BAOR for me was the best time of my life. Before the internet, before EasyJet, before mobile phones - we had to get on, we worked hard and played harder.
If there are so many ex-forces in HMP, why is there no system to rehabilitate them back into the forces to help fill the gaps we have in our military? Rich is doing great work.
Outstanding episode Dodge. Loved how honest, open and articulate Rich was. Gripping from start to finish and I loved how you let him explain in great detail how each stage of his life progressed. By far, the number one podcast out there. Excellent as always Dodge.

@@DodgeWoodall mate, just trying to help: podcast is great, loving the guests and the chats. The only niggle is the volume at the beginning and end vs the volume of the chat itself. They're quite off, so it either blows my ears off at the beginning, or at the end because I have to increase the volume for the conversation. Keep up the great work!
Great conversation but the best was at the end "Maybe I''ll go skiing" brings you all the way back to got myself a 3 day pass in Andorra.

Better then James English this dodge,never change the layout of your vids, it’s really easy to watch , nothing is off putting or annoying, you never interrupt, and good elaborate questions, keep going mate

Could relate to so much , I joined Army ( Infantry) in 1988 , did Germany , Gulf War , Northern Ireland , close protection, working doors loads of clubbing in the 90’s … I never went down the drug route though I know a few that did !

I can really relate to this fella and although it wasn't on his scale of things I got my self in a similar situation at 18 years old where the pressure of debt and the paranoia of getting nicked I was on the brink of ending it all. Honestly the powder is a mugs game. And my life is so much better without that pressure. Thanks again, keep them coming dodge 😊

Great interview, I was in Middletown in 1988 a hard republican town
I did 9 years in the Army from 16 years old.On leaving I was down to my last 50p at one stage I gave it to a tramp,I was 1 day from being homeless.My Godfather was in WW1,my Grandfather WW2 on north atlantic convoys they both saw real horrors.My Father was RAF at the start of the cold war.We have one thing in common we never became criminals nor stole and we never disgraced our service however hard life was.I think you can understand how I feel about this.

“And then we started cutting it,” And coke in the UK has been bad ever since. I don’t really do it anymore, last time I bought some it was so weak it was ridiculous, after half a gram barely felt anything (big shock though still the same price).
When you try a line from a genuine Cuban or Columbian dealer that’s when you really notice the difference 😂 It’s like ah right that’s what coke is supposed to feel like. Greedy dealers have completely ruined coke in this country.
The younger generation keep doing it cos they don’t know any better. Save your money, the dealers are laughing at you, you’re getting ripped off.

Basically NATO sat waiting for decades at the Fulda Gap and the Northern Plains in West Germany waiting for tens of thousands of Soviet tanks and other armor to come cruising through. They were the only 2 areas where the Soviets could have come through on mass. From 1985 to the fall of the USSR the Soviets were reducing forces massively as they were broke after a decade in Afghanistan and there wasn't too much risk of them invading Germany, particularly after 1989 when the wall came down.
