Bro the surfer dude Shots were super nice, I expected something boring, but this was perfect!
I was looking into the mini but the weight was a deal breaker for me. It’s almost as heavy as a hero 8. Went with the dji action 2. So much lighter and has an external charging station
I like the GoPro Mini 11 - I hold it in my hand - down low - nobody can see me recording - I just walk around with it - perfect for me -

@Empedance - Pictures - I take video - I can take all the pictures I want - I just freeze a frame - and zoom in - no problem - also the still image is #1 - no shit
You may know this by now since it’s been a while since release, but you can apparently link settings presets with QR codes and point the Hero11 mini at it, after which it will automatically change the settings to the corresponding QR code. I haven’t tried it yet so idk how well it works. But it’s supposed to be a shortcut that makes up for the lost screens & menus
I use this camera as the Tail camera on my aircraft. It is great, while it works, but like any other gopro, it has a major issue. It cannot record video and charge the battery at the same time. I have 3 other gopros on the airplane. 2 HERO12s and 1 HERO7. Those are fine because if I remove the battery and run them on external power source only, they go for hours without fail. On 11 mini though, I cannot remove the battery and the IPAD or gopro remote always lose the connection to the Tail camera during the flight.
The Hero11 is great in many ways. You can with GoPro labs firmware installed alter the sleep time with which you are having issues. This option seems to be unable in camera or in the quick app (that may change if GoPro updates the App. But for now and for me person I always run Hero Labs firmware.
Would you recommend just using the bigger one, not the mini?

The gopro is controled by 2 buttons, pain in the a** right ?
I as a ''genius'' i thought that i would simply edit all my settings (video modes) on the Quik App
and then scroll with the 2 buttons in betwens my settings on the camera.
Brilliant ? nope !
YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE VIDEO SETTINGS AT A TIME !
When i use my gopro i always switch in between my 4-5 favorite video modes :
Sunny - Sport - Underwater - Slowmo (2x 4x 8x) ...
And each video modes have differents settings (resolution - frame rate - stabilisation - shutter speed ...)
So now, to ''switch'' in between video modes, i have to clicks 15 times on the gopro, 15 TIMES
AND THATS NOT ALL
more precise settings like shutter speed and stabilisation (and many more) CAN ONLY BE CONTROLED ON THE APP !!!
Gopro are meant to often be use where you cant take you phone out.. especially with the smaller version....
That. is. a. shame.

Yes it can be fixed in a software update, but for now, my vacation is in 4 days and i am pissed (probably like a lot of people were)
Other thing, the volta handle (with battery built-in) comes with a usb pass-through door for the gopro 11 standard only, not the mini (second time they pissed me off)
U know hero labs has qr codes u can scan that’ll change the settings for what u want. Try it out maybe it’ll stop all the crying.
I just bought it and tried a few times to film at sunset or a bit after from my DJI FPV in the mountains, picture was really bad in the shadows, too much noise, can you share what settings/modes you using for such conditions?

Can u share ur settings for GoPro 11 mini ? I’m used to film in 4:3 for rsgo …. But i noticed i lose 10 bit option when i choose 4:3 format

Yo Danny, I think the DJI Osmo has a removable screen not sure about the weight in it’s lightest config. Anyways so many cameras out there but to me GoPro 11 mini does standout for FPV specifically. If I start flying more I want one too haha

Yes it’s great for the weight distribution but bad in low lights. The GoPro 11 mini is better with the 10 bits in 5.3K

Can't you use the iFlight balance adapter work to charge your gopro while flying?!
The battery won’t charge while it is recording, you can power it externally though… if the adapter can provide enough power to the camera

The audio on the GoPro 11 Mini is the same as the GoPro 11 - perfect for me -
How long does the battery last? you said a while...how long is that?
