I never pull the lowest frequencies on my kicks. You can't hear them, but on some very good systems you can certainly FEEL them...

Slurp de Durp Big G!!! I totally agree with you on Your advice on Kick and Snare EQ. Now with all that in some of my ROCK tracks The Snare sometimes does line up with the kick on the beat. This helps with that case but as far as DNB tracks you are correct. They are not hitting at the same time. VERY HELPFUL AS ALAWAYS Big G!!! Peace and Good Health to all!!!😎

agree, in dnb and other genres you often don't have to make space for the snare bc it doesn't play in time with the kick. but if you produce 4-to-the-4-floor genres like techno, psytrance, house or something I tend to make just a little bit space or try to have the fundamental of the snare sitting not too much in the midrange (claps for example are working really well). I also tend to make the snare/clap sound a bit more stereo and lower the mono information so it doesn't clash with the kick. another useful trick might be to micro-adjust the timing of the snare just a little bit after the kick (a couple of miliseconds, not more than 35ms so your ear can't really recognize the delay between kick and snare). so that the transients of both sound don't play at the exactly same time and they don't clash.
