I enjoy things more that I make from scratch instead of buying it. Like I sew my own bags and purses, build my own shelves, bake my own pastry and cooj my own food. It always makes me feel good when I use or eat it compared to store bought ones because I made it.

this is about the effect of putting effort on love, but I believe we need to analyze the mediator that actually leads to the perception. Mediators for example; " sense of belonging", "sense of self recognizing", "sense of self efficacy" etc. Putting effort wont lead to a change of just one single mental status, so those experiments introduced in the lecture should be analyzed in a more sophiscated way in my opinion.

i had a HORRIBLE time putting together a piece of ikea furniture and everytime I look at it, I hate it and vividly remember the agony, effort and frustration it put me through. complete customer dissatisfaction.

I really liked the particular video-lecture and since this comprehensive version of 'the IKEA effect' is not publicized, it'd be great to be available to people who would never sign up for an online course. I do not intend to upload more videos from the course & do not make any profit from this channel. If you upload this video in your channel or make a humanistic argument -besides copyright- I'll happily remove it. btw Dan is a-w-e-s-o-m-e. Watched him in the RSA this summer & have no words :-)

The thing about kids is kind of meh, though. You like your kids because they're genetically yours and you have an evolved hormonal attachment to them--even if you put no effort in, you would still want to keep them more than someone else would want to buy them.

maybe you can provide your own content instead of copying other peoples work? if you think his ideas are worth spreading make a video about it. humanistic argument?........ Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

Well said, (Except for the God's part. Irrelevant) it's an arrogant comment.
