The "Letting out a mighty roar" part is my favorite part in the entire show.
My favourite part about looking back at this is
1)it still looks new.
2) I'm at this point where Im spotting the brothers/mother's playing different parts
oh my god i never noticed the brothers in other scenes until right now?? you rocked my world????
You know, a musical for children
Well this literally helped awaken my sexuality as a prepubescent confused boy lol. Thanks Donny's abs
5½ minutes of Donny Osmond reacting naturally to a weirdo cabaret. I couldn't love this any more
I love this show so much. It's like the most fun fever dream you've ever had, with the catchiest music ever. I might be biased since I'm currently in a production as the Narrator, but still. It's unbelievably good.
@@cameronclarkhull It was the first show I ever did - I was in 3rd grade, so it's kind of insane to be doing it again so many years later!
It's like Ancient Egypt meets the 1920s meets the 1980s...
This is legit one of my favorite shows. Grew up watching this version millions of times.
For the longest time, eight year old me had no idea what was happening during the entire scene, just that Mrs. Potiphar and her friends seem to be having a lot of weird, evil fun. Watching this scene now, how the hell is it for kids?
THATS WHAT I SAID LMAOOOO HOW DID MY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL WATCH THIS IN FOURTH GRADE
My Catholic elementary school put on this show... The junior version though, lol! Instead of this whole thing, it was written that Potiphar's wife framed Joseph for stealing a jewel. Pretty different, huh?
Potiphar is a great character.
that loin cloth combined the hair is just something else
Well I've heard this song lots of times, easily my favourite in the soundtrack, but this certainly wasn't how I pictured it
Met Ian McNiece at a comic con after watching this for the zillionth time - said we loved him as Potipher - he said Oh my god... nobody has said that to me before 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of my favorite movie musicals evvvvvvver. Absolutely stunning and the cast is awesome!!!
Raunchy for a Mormon like Ol' Donny.
Easiest and one of the best cello solos to end a showtune
Joan was inspired casting.
I always loved this musical, but I only ever listened to the soundtrack and never saw any actual performances or clips... until now. jeez.
What was your interpretation of Potiphar when hearing the song being seeing the actual interpretation in the film?
Is this channel ever going to show full shows again? I know theaters have reopened but the full shows were such a godsend.
looking back as a raving bisexual, i now know why i loved this scene so much 😂
when i was a child watching this, I felt something in me but i never knew what
now i understand
currently playing mrs. potiphar... we just blocked this scene today and omg
3:13 I don't get why there was a little shriek when his shirt was removed.
I just got cast as Mrs Potiphar for my high school show along with a wife…praying for me yall
@@anadathegrape THATS AWESOME !! im doing the show at a theater that isnt my school and i ' m dan ! we are selling out rlly fast ! opening night ' s in 8 days
thank god my theater changed the costumes and general message for the children…
I can't believe I used to watch this... In reception 😂
I actually like how oddly sexual this musical is. XD
Me and my friend laughed at this song when we had to because it was a rehearsal for a play at my school and there was a kid in my class who is Photifor and it made me laugh laugh 😂
Potiphar is probably the only character I’d play as if I auditioned
"It's all there in chapter 39 of Genesis" And clearly Webber never read it
@@andrewjames1982 You do realize this is supposed to be an adaptation of the story and the entire point was Joseph did NOT sleep with Potiphar's wife yeah?
@@matthewcooper4248 I was quoting from the original soundtrack….
Potiphar - But my wife would never, tow the line
Narrator - It’s all there in chapter 39, of Genesis
Potiphar - Don’t believe everything you read dear
@@matthewcooper4248 but he didn’t sleep with her in this version either right? I may have misinterpreted it but she was forcing herself on him, yeah? Idk
Great play !
Joan Collins as Pottifer's wife. Perfect!
MrPotiphar: BUT my wife will never toe the line
Her: ye totally 💀
Ignoring that one very not child friendly scene this song is amazing!!
We’re doing this at my school 💀💀
In exactly a week today
Oh dear😳😳
Is that Joan Collins as Potiphers wife???
I believe that she does double duty as a pianist at the very beginning, i.e. way before this scene.
@@jeffreyyewell6540 How does that work then, being the pianist and also on stage as Mrs. Potiphar?😂
When you realize Potiphar was Baron Harkonen
Excuse me, this is meant to be a children’s musical and film, but they donny osmond’s naked top of his body
I don’t know if I’m just being silly but back in 1999 did they even know the definition of a “children’s” film musical?
I think should have been rated 15 or 18 if that’s the case. Like an x film.
Hebrews 9:27
And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,
Mark 8:36
36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
I don’t know why but the narrator sound like Olive from Popeye on this song
A mix of Barbarella and Fosse.
8 year old me not nowing what bi is (I am bi)
King pin the musical
Good song bro I like the music
So this movie is for children, right? What do they think is happening here?
What a weird musical
Jesus, I think this number may have traumatized me as a kid.
1:08 I’m sorry, what is he doing with his hand?
is this a movie? is this a proshot? it's confusing, cause it seems like a proshot but even the audience is fake obviously and the set design is impossible for a realistic theatre, also it looks like a movie but movies don't usually take place inside of a theatre if it's a movie musical
Alexis
Blessings in an abundance of the faith in Jesus Christ. He came into the world to save it. I salute you. 😘🙏🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️ Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. Thank you God for keeping us safe in every possible way. He called my son out of Egypt. Joseph stayed in Egypt. I’m praying for his release if possible. In Jesus name. With God all things are possible. Thank you for deliverance. Thank you for homecomings. In Jesus name. Amen 🙏 Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your lord and personal saviour??? I do. Amen 🙏

Joseph is gonna take his shirt off and he gonna Be sent to jail
I’m sorry but how is this suitable for children
Girlfriend
Wtf is all this ?
But like, this isn’t biblically accurate lol
Potiphar was a head captain of the guards in Egypt, he could’ve easily had Joseph killed in any excruciating way he wanted. The fact they he just had him imprisoned showed that he just making a show for other people and that he really believed in Joseph (and later in the story Potiphar is actually mentioned again by the name of Potifara 🥸so interpret that as you will💁♀️
I don't know how to interpret Potifar and Potifara but you may want to elevate on it with a link to a yt video?
All I understand is that Egypt is Biblical seen low and the prison in Egypt is lower, the lowest point.
That one scene that comes on when your parents are around
Every time 😂
