- In today's video we'll be offering my New Caledonian geckos some ripened fresh fruits to see which kind seems to be their favourite! We'll be feeding my two crested geckos (correlophus ciliatus) as well as my pair of Giant geckos (Rhacodactylus leachianus). Hope you enjoy!

Awhile ago I started making fruit and veggie smoothies for my crestie since he won’t take the powdered stuff. it has acorn squash, sweet potato, collard greens, bell pepper, carrot, apricots, mango, rasberries, blueberries, strawberries, apple, and grapes plus probably a few things i’m forgetting, plus a good bit of calcium supplement. he absolutely loves it and has actually put on a little weight after being slightly skinny for his whole life, gonna make a version 2.0 soon with powdered bugs, flowers, and pollen since for now he still needs regular live insects to get protein

This video made me give my gargoyle gecko some fig as a fresh fruit treat! He absolutely loved it!! I'm sure there's stuff in the real fruit we just can't replicate for them properly in prepared diets, plus I'm sure it's enriching to try and eat something different!

Leachies are so great especially when they get bigger, something about them just resembles a face faced puppy lol. I currently own 3 . I would say out of all reptiles they have the biggest temptation of buying another after your first.

Love your videos I have 2 cresties because of you and snake discovery love them so much they are lychee and guava think I may have to try them on some fresh fruit :)
I think you gave a much smaller amount of banana for Nona and the fig had a stronger scent.
Try using the yellow mango (ataulfo) because they are sweeter and less acidic tasting than the typical mango!

My crested geckos favorite fruit is banana. He’s never tried anything like fig but he definitely prefers banana over grape.

My crested gecko loves banana, apricot and peach. Fig is hit and miss, and until now I hadn’t any success with mango. I never fed him whole pieces of fruit, I must try.

Can you mix in fruit with the reg crested gecko food or even the juice from the fruit

I think they’ll either like mango or banana the best. They’re both tropical fruits and seem more like the type of fruits they would naturally eat.

Ok so I looked it up and fig trees as well as Mango, paw paw, banana, pineapple, oranges, Alvarado and more all grow in New Caledonia. Though I guess figs are under some threat but I didn't get a chance to learn more. Anyway, makes sense they like the figs :) An I bet they are a real treat even for a captive bred gecko. It is certainly good enrichment and helps promote natural behaviors for what they would find in the wild. (Minus the whole cut up pieces and camera part XD) love the video!

From my experience my creative has always loved mango, so I think mango will be most popular.
My crested LOVES banana, but only if I mix it in with his Pangea diet
Fig i believe. but banana smells more i believe..too.. so maybe that. i remember trying to give my lizards real fruit (sounds so weird to call it real ) but i often had a lot of different fruit and so on at home since i have a lot of different pets of the fur kind and the scale and more.

My curiosity is, what do they encounter in the wild and do they naturally go after the fruit even after having been on their supplement diet previously.... and how does the various fruit affect them ? Are there precautions necessary, could to much fruit be detrimental to their which made for a cool interesting video 👍👍
