Then when it finally came out, they were for some reason HUGELY disappointed and went on to play NFS Undercover. 🤦🏽♂️ Meanwhile I was absolutely blown away by the graphics, mods and cockpit driving and thought it was best next step from MC3. The only bit I was disappointed by MCLA were the lack of SUV’s & Trucks (I know about the 2 Range Rovers in South Central) but they could’ve added more. At the end, Midnight Club LA is the ONLY realistic, most engaging Street Racing game ever. You felt like you were in LA for real.
The grind in midnight club la was super satisfying, I remember getting the Murcielago after several weeks of said hard grinding...ohh what a visceral feeling that was It's one of the last true street racing games imo.
THIS! I miss the grind to work for cars, this is my main issue with the modern Forza horizon games, they just toss supercars at you like nothing. I miss the grind, but unfortunately I can’t see it coming back due to a change in consumer mindset
I used to live in LA as a student back in the day. I'm originally from Europe. Just a couple of weeks ago i decided to get MCLA for my PS3. And wow man. I felt nostalgic. Not for the game, but for the city! I knew most streets and franchises in the game like "Winchell's". I got a feeling for this game like i've never experienced before.
Midnight club 3 is a masterpiece for me. I loved the game when I was 7. Hopefully I can get a ps2 and get a copy of the game and relive my childhood again.
Also, I remember playing LA on PSP, and the Midnight Club: L.A. Remix had an entire second part of the game set in Tokyo, which is unlocked after completing the LA storyline. It even had a slightly different car list. Edit: I’ve read a wiki page about “Remix”, and apparently the car list has been split for LA and Tokyo, it uses the LA map from Midnight club 2, and the Tokyo map is from MC 3 DUB edition Remix.
This game was part of my childhood and i enjoyed it alot, it was my favorite racing game at the time, sadly, my X360 got broken and i can't play it anymore... but the memories and the nostalgia remains in me.

I could've sworn my MCLA Complete Edition disc didn't work one time, but I found out it actually did still work when I put it my 360 after seeing his video. I like the car list in the game, some of my favorites are the SL65 AMG, the Gallardo Spyder (I also love that you can mess around with the convertible top in those cars and almost any other convertible car!), and the CLK63 AMG Black Series. I also really like the selection of music this game has, and one my most favorite songs would have to be the Justice remix of MGMTs Electric Feel.
I remember staying a weekend with my friend carter and when we were hanging out I went on the ps3 that he had, and when I looked through the games he had Midnight Club, LA. I think it was the DUB or COMPLETE edition I dont remember, but boy did I fall in love with it. You were right about the customization, it's so good. One of the cars I built to cruise around in was a 67 Pontiac GTO with a wide body kit and had it lifted. I miss that game lol. I needa find and buy someone's old ps3 and play it again

Maybe TDU Solar Crown will kick them from 1st place, but if so, it should be a very, very good game to take over the 1st place. Also sad about it that Rockstar doesn't develop a new Midnight Club. But hey, never lose hope🤪👌
PSA: MCLA was relisted on the Xbox Marketplace a few months ago. It is backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series consoles - get it as long as you can!
What I love most about the midnight club series, compared to other racing games, is that you were allowed to drive around the city, and get to know whatever city you're in before you even bother to race. I also love that it's lost during a race. So you really got to know your way around town.
You are absolutely right about everything! The game is damn impressive even today but the physics/handling was a major turn off for me , it kinda soured my experience. It felt too arcadey , even more so than the nfs games.
You're high. Was way better than anything before it. Most wanted felt like a 80s retro game in handling and physics in comparison. everything handled the same way... Manual cars shifting offered a HUGE performance gain over automatic. Faster shifting, better down shifting. They nailed that shit. Never seen any racing game suddely just through something that significant into a game and not even advertised it
@@aninnymoose720 that handling was really not that Impressive. Slowing down to go around a corner was pointless and you either had to powerslide or 2 wheel drive all the time. Real drifting was basically impossible with the physics . And cars were horribly balanced. Most muscle cars had bad handling but didn't make up for it in speed or acceleration. And tuners couldn't keep up with the speed of exotics and bikes. So at some point there was just no reason to use most of the cars. Need for speed always had a pretty decent balance between cars and car classes
they should remaster it, it was a Beautiful game Especially with south central DLC and the best customization ever in a cars game even if i am a forza horizon fan, but this game make me love cars more than any game because of the car list Which was the best in its era
I remember getting midnight club la the complete edition on my Xbox 360 and well since I live in the east coast I always wondered what the west coast is like and thanks to midnight club la it gave me the feeling of being in los angeles the music was fantastic, car list and customization was amazing but one of the best things is that each car has its own realistic interior
The cockpit cam in most games can help to hide the janky nature of the physics sometimes. Often times it's the camera that's the issue and the physics by themselves, for an arcade game, are totally serviceable. I noticed this when recently replaying this game and when you had mentioned TDU2's physics, which I didn't have much of an issue with. I subsequently decided to test NFS Shift and GRID 2 with both cameras and noticed the same thing. Also, Action cam can go to hell in every single racing game.
I came here after the video about problems with today's racing games. And I don't regret, content is really good. Heck, I'm on limited cellular data now and I still chose to watch this one from all of my subscription feed. About the topic of the video... I've never played any Midnight Club, but I have a list of "to-be-played" games, and MC 2, 3 and LA are there, waiting for their time. They aged very well as I see it now.
Its a shame that not many people like this game, and also! GREAT VIDEO!! There is a game that is basically like MNLA but for ActionRpg, its called Dragon's Dogma, Fun game, good story (at the end of the story atleast) Good classes, and even good Companions? Like, when can you see a good Companion.
i love the tone and vibe of this game, i like how you're racing with actual characters and how you're character banters with them before a race and how these characters don't take street racing super seriously like in need for speed most wanted for example. i don't however like the small amount of cars and how wildly the cars handle, it never felt like i had full control of the car, maybe i'm just bad at the game, but that's my experience. i also wish there were more customization options, like bodykit parts, this is also a problem nfs heat has, i would love to see more options like in juiced 2 or midnight club 3
Great video and great choice of background music (the menu music from midnight club 2 if I'm not mistaken). The only thing I would add is that this is the only game which had a very innovative cockpit view where you can zoom ahead a little to give street signs and the traffic ahead more clarity. The smoothness of the freelook around the cockpit is also the best I've seen. It's really immersive and a very underrated feature. ✌️
There won't be any great racing games like midnight club la, i grew up playing the game and it is the only racing game i love. I just don't understand why R* won't make another midnight club game i mean they can make a new studio specifically for the midnight club series.

I hope this turns out to be true. With the lack of street racers out there, this console generation would be the perfect time for the series to make a return
Hell yeah this is what I’m talking about lol this is a good one it reminds me of the one guy that went thru and made an like two hour long vid on the midnight club history, midnight club 3 is hands down the best one no argument midnight club la is my fav tho but I think a lot of people from my gen played midnight club 2 first lol. Tbh it’s most of my boys fav game cuz of nostalgia. But my mans ain’t wrong bout the game the only problem was the drifting you had to be really good to chain drifts but hey there was actually some “cosmetic” upgrades that made it better at drifting and you never upgrade your handling and you can chain some drifts with enough skill, telling you once you get the hang of it you can do so much more with your driving. But again nice vid man really nailed it in this one.
Over the past years, they turned GTA Online into a mix of Midnight Club, Fortnite and Battlefield .. i take a guess: that's why they don't feel the need to produce a racing game anymore and because all of their time and ressources go into RDR2 and the next games as well.
We need more street racing games other than Need for Speed with cop chases in it. 2014 was the last year Need for Speed truly had a competitor with The Crew 1.
They need to bring this series back, it's a shame they sold the rights of the game years ago but come on, in this era of tech and gaming, it had the potential to be a great
Great video loved all the details. Except for I personally think the physics in gta 5 are dog shit. The breaking power is so fake. If u floor the breaks in midnight club la, best believe your sliding to a complete stop.

I damn hope so, but I won’t hold out any hope until I see it happen
@@ultraviolet_channel they’re holding out hope for a 2024 launch. It’ll be built on the same engine as GTA:6 which we all know is inevitable
@@Sheloppe I hope so, as a crazy GTA nut I would love that
I hope this turns out to be true. With the lack of street racers out there, this console generation would be the perfect time for the series to make a return
@@MelloDrive agreed, fresh consoles and a lot of possibilities for amazing racers
Thanks again man! Means a lot
@@ultraviolet_channel np lol keep up the good content
Over the past years, they turned GTA Online into a mix of Midnight Club, Fortnite and Battlefield .. i take a guess: that's why they don't feel the need to produce a racing game anymore and because all of their time and ressources go into RDR2 and the next games as well.
Also congrats on over 5,000 subs
Lol I remember loosing my first and second car then winning them all back plus more with my third 😂😂😂
damn nice vid, and it also came out on my birthday sick
Happy birthday!
@@ultraviolet_channel ty
We need more street racing games other than Need for Speed with cop chases in it. 2014 was the last year Need for Speed truly had a competitor with The Crew 1.
If Midnight Club comes back need for speed forza horizon and the crew game will be done
Wait forza horizon is an arcade racing game? I thought it was simcade
The crew 2
“Am i nothing to you”
Yep. Don’t cover bad games 🙉
I absolutely adore MC-LA. Last proper racing game?
Im so upset that they never released a PC version of this game. Like i am so desperate to play this game for once in my pc.
7:14 the crew 1 and 2
The Crew 2 kinda sorta tried to bring some of this back...
But fail to do so
@@darknova1552, agreed!
Damn, I think I need to get this game lol
Still the best arcade racing game
I’d say motorstorm pacific rift
we need a new midnight club game (((
or at least release some of them on switch
and port mcla to pc
They would be great
@@ultraviolet_channel I only played the third and the second on my friend's ps2
and I never had the chance to play mcla
that's kinda sad tbh
@@Saikou7896 you can still play it on Xbox One or Series consoles
@@ultraviolet_channel are they gonna make a new one? Any rumors?
@@bigpapipapa256 nothing serious no, no plans for a new game
They need to bring this series back, it's a shame they sold the rights of the game years ago but come on, in this era of tech and gaming, it had the potential to be a great
Rockstar still owns the right to Midnight Club from what I know, that’s why they still are able to sell Midnight Club merchandise
@@ultraviolet_channel Hmm, I see. That's crazy how they haven't taken advantage of this series using the technology they have 😔
Wow you tell the difference between your old videos to new video not a bad video but some part could be edited out
Why make it harder as FP driving? You can't see as far down the road or around u....
7:05 burnout paradise is open world w bikes and cars.
Yeah someone else already commented that
Really great game other than the rubber banding
maybe these year we will see remade
That would be nice, I can’t see it happening though
I think burnout paradise had bikes to.
I need Pc emulator for this one :,(
Midnight club la had only 50 cars and yet more enjoyable than 900 car list forza horizon 5
Great video loved all the details. Except for I personally think the physics in gta 5 are dog shit. The breaking power is so fake. If u floor the breaks in midnight club la, best believe your sliding to a complete stop.
Have you ever heard of Test Drive Unlimited??? I guess not
Did you even watch the video before commenting? I’ve mentioned both TDU games not just in this video but in other ones too.
I am actually happy they discontinued it. The reason….
Money would be impossible to make and they would wangle micros transactions all over it
We also don't don't know how the new fans of rockstar would react, would they still choose gta v/online?
Hello
Hey dude!
Ehm...Agent is not canceld
Bruh it’s been since 2007 it’s canceled
sauce?
The Crew/ the Crew 2, has open World with bikes and cars
Made by some of the same developers of the Test Drive Unlimited series, which I mentioned in the video
@@ultraviolet_channel I see bro, my bad
@@mythh_6318 oh it’s all good dude don’t worry about it!
And this game was extremely buggy when it came out
Forgotten?
GTA V had received countless content updates over the years, Red Dead Redemption 2 has also received updates and re releases. And Midnight Club? Forgotten by Rockstar
@@ultraviolet_channel I kinda meant even more than forgotten. The game is in a 60ft grave from rockstar.
The crew 1 and 2 had a open World with both bikes and cars, but the crew 2 is dogshit.
Made by the same devs as the TDU series, which is why I didn’t mention it
@@ultraviolet_channel ohh yeah totally forgot about that, my bad
@@GavinGalix all good dude
This is one of ny fav handling models of all time lol. GTA V feels terrible in comparison.
Is there any way to play this game on a ps4?
Nope if you get an Xbox series X Or S you can buy it on the Microsoft store
