Now that there are 8 Pokemon Generations I can finally attempt Pokemon but I play in reverse! This could also be called Pokemon but I time travel as I will be moving my team back to the previous generation after every Gym leader or Island trial I defeat. The ultimate goal is to create a powerful team of Generation 1 Pokemon and defeat the original Elite 4!

The water spout was from a Kyogre with a modest nature in the rain holding a Choice Specs.
I'm very impressed he managed to beat the last Gym of level 50-55 Pokémon with a team of level 32-35 Pokémon.

Even if he had properly leveled Pokémon getting beat by an 11 Year Old while being the 8th Gym Leader being strong enough to beat an Elite Four member (If he were to fight Agatha he would win due to type matchup) and also being the head of an evil organization that is world renowned and famous and also being one of the greatest trainers in the whole region would still be pretty shocking
Can we just acknowledge the sheer number of hours that John probably put into this video? Playing through every generation partially or completely is really impressive

@@thegamingsnorlax196 the challenge could be a limited number of mons per gen, like 1 for gen 1, 2 for gens 2&3, 3 for gen 4, 4 for gens 5&6, 5 for gen 7, and 6 for gen 8.

Tbh i thought this was somehow ... start at the end with level 100 fully evolved team of 6, and everything devolves / goes down levels as you go through the game backwards through weaker and weaker battles. Not even sure if thats doable.
But this is really good too. A gym a generation is great.
Oh! When I saw the title I thought that it would be one region but doing the gyms in reverse. So for like Gold/Silver, Clair would be scaled down to be a proper 1st gym battle and Falkner would be scaled up to be the 8th gym leader. This is still super fun, and i'd love to see the reverse of this reverse, but now I also wanna know how my idea would turn out.
Look up the Crystal Clear romhack, that actually makes it possible

This format would be really cool in a Randomizer Nuzlocke. Not only do you have to worry about catching Pokemon AT ALL, but you need to stress about getting Pokemon that can be transferred back a few gens, and hoping they don't get killed. Imagine losing a Nuzlocke because you had no Gen 3 Pokemon and couldn't advance past gen 4.

Off-topic, but just wanted to bring it up here, for those expecting Poké SMP content, there’s probably none coming soon on this channel. I will go into more detail on Mikey’s next Plays video, but just know that the lore of the Poké SMP has been pushed to July and that any streams of the SMP are likely filler episodes that provide entertainment, but no story, possibly because of John’s move.

Idk why, but John naming his Gyarados Karp, reminds me of my shiny Magikarp Coinkarp... which my brother evolved for me... so now in my Pokémon Moon save file, I have a shiny Gyarados named Coinkarp. Ever since then, I have named every single shiny Gyarados I have gotten Coinkarp, because it is hilarious to have a shiny Magikarp specific name on a Gyarados.

This is such a good idea!! I didnt even think of this kind of challenge! Though i definitely think it would be easier to start in Gen 1 then work way down since technically you can transfer pokemon to the next game and you dont have to leave behind many (if any) pokemon until Sword and Shield (because of the national dex -_-)

I would LOVE to see a nuzlocke of this type of style going through all the generations while keeping and baring the fact that one simple mistake can end your Pokémon’s life and possibly start all the way back in gen 8 or 1 but I would really love to have someone do this type of nuzlocke now that would be really cool
You should have played these games in a flipped order so that when you arrived Gen8 you could have a pokemon from every other games/gens. In your way, in the end, you used only Kanto pokemon even if you caught them in other regions. It could be like in the Ash in the anime but you missed the opportunity. I hope you would do a follow-up episode to this, cuz I love the idea.
