Like you, as a child I started wearing Polo b/c my father, uncle and older cousins had the shirts. Thus I wanted it! In junior high and high school I was a Polo king. As a teen, I bought it with my pay checks. In my yearbook one of my friends wrote that I had so much of it, I could've bought a bmw.

Btw the best collections were from 1983-1990 thats when Polo was still Made in U.S.A and all the knits were made in the British Isles and Hong Kong. polo Sport was only made because of the baggy clothes era in Hip-Hop. Thats when Ralph introduced the size 2X. Instead of making the silhouette bigger and cater to Hip-Hop, he just made a larger size and added that to collection.We never bought Polo, we laughed at people who bought Polo. Boosting was a sport in Brooklyn.
