    Good news ! Great that all the other components survived. 👍 Duddie will now be competitive with the Green corn field Dart from up in the Great White North 👍

    The pistons will be a little chunk of change, but you already got more than you bargained for!! Can't really be mad about that .. Score Duddie!! Sorry DW.

  • @ClaytonCountyHistoryHound

    That sucks about the pistons. Every time I see someone removing a came it reminds me of the old Operation game 😆 🤣. Looking forward to seeing that motor going back together. Take care ✌️

    The only way to know for sure that the valve springs are stock is to check the springs pressure.

    • @TheDodgeWhisperer

      Very true... They look pretty stock when compared to stock valve spring though. Micrometer says same wire guage and same number of coils as stock

    Well on the plus side now, anytime you need to ask duddie's help on anything, you can begin the conversation with "remember that time I sold you that sweet stroker engine for cheap". LOL

      That's the standard fuel injection intake for Magnum 5.9s, trucks, Dakotas, Durangos. Guessing they'll pitch it in favor of a carbureted intake.

    That motor was a hell of a score . Were any of the top piston rings pinched from that damage? When u buy new pistons what will you do about the rotating balance.

    • @TheDodgeWhisperer
      @TheDodgeWhisperer  Před 2 lety

      Undecided on the balance at the moment but chances are good we may have to address it. We will have to see what the gurus say when we make some parts selections

    I would have used those pistons. But I would weigh those pistons make them all way the same those little chips missing on the top shouldn't hurt a thing as long as they all weigh the same. I have used pistons in the past like with no problems just balance the pistons on opposite side. I wouldn't be afraid to use them it's not going to hurt the compression enough to notice. Unless they are Cracked not just chipped. I bought a 350 that someone use Nos on it a burnt down the sides of the pistons but not down far enough to be close to the rings a never had a problem with it

    • @TheDodgeWhisperer
      @TheDodgeWhisperer  Před 2 lety

      It is hard to say how bad they are but below the chunks that are missing it looks and feels like a crack

    Was the block decked at all or did you check to see how far the pistons sat in the hole?

    • @TheDodgeWhisperer
      @TheDodgeWhisperer  Před 2 lety

      Pistons were very slightly below the deck. We found some pistons that should keep compression around 9.5:1

    Is the crank balance the same as a magnum 360?

    • @TheDodgeWhisperer
      @TheDodgeWhisperer  Před 2 lety

      We are digging into that currently. The harmonic balancer and flex plate are definitely Magnum balance. I am calling eagle again on Monday to see about the crank

    • @mikeeiben3430
      @mikeeiben3430 Před 2 lety

      @@TheDodgeWhisperer I believe a magnum 360 can have 2 different balances, a truck engine, or a crate engine.
